This album with 5 unreleased bonus trucks is an album that should be in any one cd's collection , the live version " Let me love you baby " is excellent played ,Steve Ray Vaughan was a master player.

all the other SRV fans have already told u how great this album is im just here to talk about the bonus track "life without you" (live). the studio version is good but this version is so much better, words cannot describe how i feel about it. its expanded by about 10 minutes and includes one of stevies free form raps. But what makes me love it so much is the expression and raw emotion stevie puts into every note. i close my eyes when i listen to it and i get this indescribable feeling and enter this state of mind were nothing else matters or even exists. it sounds corny i know, but that is the power that this song has. anyways i think i will wrap up my seemingly crazy description of the song and my feelings for it. i love the rest of the album to but this is my favorite track. please, dont hesitate in buying it.
SRV Is The Man 2006-10-20
SRV has to be on the short list of greatest guitarists ever. He is amazing. This album is one of his best, it is just awesome. This man could play and this album really shows off his skills. Great album.
Healing with passion 2006-10-05
Mr. Vaughn's recovery from addiction comes through loud and clear while he loses none of the passion and style that made him so popular to begin with. Every song is like a self-portrait of an man who has finally found the way to real success. The songs are upbeat and make you want to dance with the newfound joy of the artist. Some of the best that SRV has to offer.
SRV - In Step 2006-08-08
I just wanted to add some info for anyone who's considering buying this but is not completely sure:
The bonus track live version of "Texas Flood" is 7 minutes 22 seconds of Stevie's best live playing EVER recorded. It is amazing. By itself it justifies the $9 expenditure for any SRV fan. The live bonus "Life Without You" is terrific too, by far the best version I've heard of that song (minus the preachy little anti-booze speech he stops to give partway through), but nothing compares to the "Texas Flood" on here. I don't think I'll ever forgive myself for not having been born soon enough to see this man play live.
So if you're thinking about getting it - get it!
SRV's Best? 2008-02-08
Though I had initially given the crown to Texas Flood, on second thought I think that In Step might, in fact, be the best studio release from the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan (and don't forget Double Trouble!).
In Step is a non-stop, rockin' blues party, front to back, and is chock full of great tunes and greater guitar work. "The House is Rockin'," "Crossfire," and "Tightrope" are all favorites, of course, but the album really hits a great groove after the first three tracks that carries all the way through "Scratch-N-Sniff" and "Love Me Darlin'," before ending on a beautifully atmospheric blues note on "Riviera Paradise," which I've always felt is one of SRV's best tracks.
Really an outstanding album!
As for the bonus material, well, the album is great, by itself, so any bonus material is just that...a bonus!
And on this album, the bonus tracks are really fantastic! SRV serves up live versions of three favorites, as well as a cover of Buddy Guy's "Let Me Love You Baby." All are top notch, and I particularly appreciate seeing one of my personal favorites, "Life Without You."

I adore this album as I do all of his music. I only wish that he were still with us.
His Best Album. Period. 2007-12-29
Okay, before you read this review, take a look at the ratio of other reviews regarding the number of stars given. At this moment, there were 57 5-Star reviews and 5 4-Star reviews. That says it all.
The first few tracks on this album show why SRV is considered the best Blues guitarist ever. "The House is Rockin'", "Tightrope", and his best radio hit, "Crossfire", are symbolic of his trademark aggressiveness when the guitar is in his hands.
One thing that a lot of people don't mention about SRV is his voice. The guitar is mesmerizing, but his voice a great compliment to his playing. Flat out, SRV shows his smoothness, not only in the album cuts, but also in the live cuts at the end.
SRV rules 2007-10-10
Stevie Ray Vaughn's last cd shows his incredible creativiy and virtuosity. I highly recommend this cd as the ultimate SRV.
Scorching 2007-09-22
This is the last SRV studio album before his untimely death in 1990, and its one of the very best he ever made.
As you would expect there is some searing guitar playing on this album as well some of Stevie's best songs. How many variations on blues/rock can you do? Well based on this album it seems unlimited - 'Crossfire', 'Tightrope' are both classics in the SRV cannon. For pure blues 'Leave My Girl Alone' takes some beating and the opening track 'The House is Rockin'' is as rocking a boogie as you'll ever hear.
There are two elements to this album that are significantly different from SRV's early albums. Firstly the addition of Reese Wynans on Keyboards fills out the sound, so that SRV can play lead with more than just bass and drums behind him. Also if you know this album could you imagine 'The House is Rockin'' without the Piano? Secondly 'Riviera Paradise' which finishes this album is a very mellow laid-back instrumental, and by an odd coincidence this is the last-ever SRV track on a studio album, and its completely unlike any other track in his recording career.
Sadly Stevie Ray Vaughan's recording career was pretty short but he left us with this final great album. It should be in your collection!
