too late for my 1 year old! 2004-02-05
I think I missed the boat on this one; I bought it for xmas for my 13 month old and the only real play it gets is when my daughter and her 3 year old brother take off the "play top" and sit inside it! They think thats fun but thats about it.

Awesome Toy 2003-12-31
We bought this table based on other parent reviews, and though we couldn't find it locally the shipping cost was well worth it.
Our 11 month old twins love this toy, and when they get done playing with the activity center they pull it all apart and play even longer. The best part is it seems virtually indestructible, and only one small part uses a battery, the train track just winds up. We're very happy with this purchase.

Grandson was not interested in this toy 2003-12-29
My 15 mo old grandson was not interested in this toy, except to pull the top part off (which does not attach in any way, just lays down on top of the table). The blocks are too advanced for his age, and the train only makes a hoot sound-no songs as advertised. Money down the drain. Too low to sit a childs chair up to it as the picture shows

Terrific Table 2003-11-18
Great table: sturdy, reasonably priced and not too high tech.

Alex already has the Leap Frog LeapTable and absolutely loves it. But this is another great toy that will last and will hold your little one's attention for a long time. I agree with other reviewers, 3 yrs may be too "old" for this toy. My son is 9 months old and I can see him wanting to play with this for a long time.

You can get more Mode blocks to fit this table by going to Chicco.com to look for authorized sellers and also looking at other baby stores on the net, including kidsstuff.com, where they sell either the blocks or something by Chicco called the Sit and Store (a chair seat with an attached box underneath that comes with 20 more Mode blocks inside) which goes nicely with this table.

GREAT TOY-MADE IT THROUGH 2 KIDS!!! 2003-10-29
I GOT THIS FOR MY SON WHEN HE WAS 1 YR. HE IS NOW 4, BUT HIS YOUNGER SISTER USED IT AS WELL. BOTH KIDS LOVED THIS TOY. THEY THROUGHT THE TRAIN W/TRAIN WHISTLE WAS TOO COOL. THEY LOVED BEING ABLE TO STACK THE BLOCKS ON THE TABLE, AND THE STORAGE BELOW WAS GREAT FOR MOM AND DAD. THERE ARE PLENTY OF GAGETS TO ENTERTAIN THEM. WE JUST GOT RID OF IT SINCE MY DAUGHTER IS ABOUT TO TURN 3. DEFINITLEY GOT MY MONEY'S WORTH.

Great long last toy! 2008-05-23
We bought this for our son's 1 year birthday. He is now 2 years old and still plays with it. Worth the money. Long lasting and provides hours of fun

Worth every cent 2006-11-10
I bought it when my son was 12 month old. He loved it from the day one.

Are the train's wheels a choking hazard? 2006-08-04
I bought this a few days ago for my 10 month old son. The first time he played with it, he spent over an hour exploring all the features!! For the most part, we're both very happy with it. Last night, though, I was looking at the wheels of the little train. Since my son loves to bag his toys on the tile floor, it seems that the wheels could break off, and cause a choking hazard. Well, it's no problem to simply take the train away, but I wish I'd bought a toy that he could *completely* enjoy!

Parents Magazine "Best Toy of the Year" 2005-08-03
Without a doubt, the Flip `n Play Table by Chicco was my son's favorite "baby" toy! In fact, my boy wasn't willing to give it up until he was 3-years old. I could probably write pages, and pages about the Flip `n Play Table, because it was so well loved, and the developmental qualities are endless. I emphasized the word "baby" in the first sentence of the review, because I think the age recommendation could easily be altered to 9-months and up. William was 8-months old when he received this table at Christmas, and he needed very little introduction. He played with the spinning sphere with beads, and the clock with spinning hands, because developmentally he wasn't able to do the other activities. The sphere rattles and makes lots of noise, which always entertains little ones. The phone, and the button that makes choo choo sounds were early favorites too. We didn't use the leg supports for probably 3-months; because William wasn't walking yet, and I was concerned he might fall forward. Once he was steady on his feet, the leg support went on and he would stand, or kneel up to the toy. Then, when he started climbing, he'd climb right inside the bin with all the blocks, and play. It was the cutest thing, although, I had to put a stop to that because I wasn't comfortable with him being 13" off the floor even though we have carpeting. I'd take the legs off the table, and he'd climb in the bin while it rested on the floor. He was just as happy that way, and I didn't have to worry about him falling.

Once he understood that the lever activated the train, he was in heaven. It makes a loud winding sound, which startled him at first, but then he enjoyed the noise. We'd wind the track time, and time again. At about that time he started playing with the shape sorter too. Unlike other shape sorters, this one requires you sort the shapes properly. There are only three shapes, a circle, a square, and a triangle so it's rudimentary. I think the last activities that my son was able to do was flip the book, and manipulating the rotary dial. He didn't stack the blocks for quite some time either. He'd play with the blocks, mostly twirl them on the floor, and bang them together. He was almost 2 before he started stacking, and building with the blocks. On his first birthday, I added a supplementary set, the Light `N Sound Circus Train, which really added to the play value of this toy. It gave him more blocks to stack, and since there's no stacking order, the designs are endless.

I'm especially satisfied with the performance of the Flip `n Play Table. It's extremely durable, and easy to care for as well. I've placed the bin, the legs, and the blocks in the dishwasher without concern. Due to the mechanisms, the tabletop should be cleaned with a damp cloth. Chicco make exceptional toys that are developmental yet, fun. I highly recommend this plaything, and the Chicco line of products.

Terrific Table 2004-08-19
It's got bells--and whistles! Plays train sounds and the clack clack bell sound of a train crossing. You wind up the track for the train manually, put the train on it and away you go. I LOVE the fact that this toy is not a battery-eater like most of his others, and that it does double duty as a block-building table, too! Alex at 17 months still plays with this; we got it for him at 9 1/2 months. He loves to take the top off and sit in it, or sit on the floor on his knees in front of it and use the inside area for a little table to eat a snack off of. He has his own table and chairs, but sometimes he prefers to use this. THERE ARE NO SONGS THAT PLAY, AND NONE WERE ADVERTISED, despite a previous reviewers comments. There are two versions of this table available--this one, and the so-called new, improved, electronic, musical version, which I think pales in comparison to this original. Who needs one more musical toy that does everything but allow the kid to use their imagination and play? Not me! And if you want a good old-fashioned toy, that your kid will love for a long time and that will stand up to that type of use, get this. You'll be glad you did. I only wish I could find more of the plastic blocks that come with this by themselves, rather than in playsets that are sold separately.

Dora The Explorer

My kids just love joining Dora on her exciting adventures and they get to learn a little Spanish along the way. They really respond the the interactivity of the videos especially when Swiper the Fox comes along - "Oh Man!"

She is great as a role model for girls and for learning Spanish .
