What can I say...

I bought this cradle as a second cradle for work. For those looking for a review, I don't know if I can say much as it is just about perfect. If you are looking for a second cradle, buy it! It is exactly like the one that you purchased with your Palm V handheld.
Get the USB cradle instead...

Perhaps the only bummer with the Palm V series is that they have a slow serial port connection, which takes much longer to Sync than a USB port. I'd recommend buying the USB PalmConnect kit instead, which costs about the same. Shop around.

This product is extremely annoying because it requires a huge power brick, 3 seperate cables, and the slow antiquated RS-232 serial connection to synchronize.
Thank God there is a USB equivalent available now. Do not buy this, there are better alternatives available now. In my opinion, the Palm devices won't really be useful until 802.11 wireless synchronization is available.

I was given a Palm V for no reason (the person who gave it to me did not need it). When I bought this charger, I knew it would great. The casing is non-plastic, which is good (my brothers casing is plastic, and even though is Palm is color, mine will stay durable for awhile). I've heard it only takes a few short moments to charge, and the battery lasts for about a month. The HotSync software is free, and there are lots of shareware and freeware apps for this Palm, not to mention the apps already included on the Palm.
Reading your e-mails is very nice, especially when your flying out the door to school or work, and you do not have time to check your e-mail. All you do is press the hotsync button, finish gettign ready, and there you go. Read your e-mails on the road and respond to them. Then hotsync your Palm when you get home to send your replies. Nice feature.
Over all, any newer generation Palm model should do the trick for you. Palm makes great products, so go and get one today!

What Can I say? Palm products have always been of the best quality, and the Palm V Hotsync Cradle is no exception. I purchased an extra cradle for use with another desktop, so I can sync with several computers. The cradle bottom is metal, and there is enough weight that it does not move if the cord has a bit of pull on it. A must buy for palm V(x) users that need to sync with another computer, or need one at the office and at home. Whatever the case maybe, its very handy to have an extra cradle around.

...it attaches to the back of the 9-pin female plug that attaches to the back of your computer you're syncing to.

I recently received my palm V cradle with hotsync serial cable attached. No problem on that end but when i inspected the charger's cord that is supposed to plug into the cradle there was no opening to be found?? what am i supposed to do with a charger that i cant plug into my cradle??

with usb, you just have to simply plug it in and it charges for you.
however with the com port charger, this is so unstable and disfunctional.
If you can, please get the USB compatible hotsync cradle charger.
it is so much smaller and you won't regret like i am right now.

A must if you use your Palm at home and the office. 2002-05-04
If you're like me, you use two or more PC's over the course of a normal workday and you use your PalmVx religiously. Your Palm already came with one cradle, but you really need an extra to ensure all your PC's are in sync.
What more can be said...it's the same high quality and easy to use charging cradle that came with your Palm. Mostly a convenience thing for casual users, but for those who use their Palms alot, you need an extra. Pick one up now while they're still available.

I have never seen a better product similar to this one before. My cell phone battery lasts less time than my palm Vx, and yet it takes longer than with this charger. This charger, with average use, takes only about two minutes to charge, and syncs with the computer at blazing speeds. Great product!
