Didn't work on Philips DVD Recorder 2007-03-19
Not being sure what was going on with our Philips DVD Recorder lately - it still plays okay, skipping occasional, but the recording feature has become utterly useless - I tried this product last week. It just has a small bristle on the DVD apparently to clean dust. Cleaned it multiple times. It didn't do a thing.

I finally found a page on the badly written non-indexed manual of our recorder that says because of the high power used by the laser in the recorder, disc cleaners are a no no. You may want to refer to your manual before buying this cleaner.

Does Not Work on ALL DVD Players 2006-05-04
First of all, the shipping on this item costs more than the item itself. I did get it quickly (2 or 3 days), but I had several problems with it:

(1) I repeatedly tried it on my DVD player and the player hung. Each time I had to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to respond. I tried over 10 times and got the same result each time.

(2) I tried it on DVD drive 1 on my computer and it hung as well. Had to Ctrl-Alt-Del to get my DVD player software to close. On the 3rd attempt it actually did work.

(3) I repeatedly tried it on DVD drive 2 on my computer. Each time I got a message saying "no disk".

I consider it item a waste of money.

Panasonic DMR-E75V Recorder 2006-03-28
Absolutely fantastic, my recorder stopped formatting my DVD-Ram disks. I had used the recorder approximately 1 yr, After using Maxell's DVD cleaner disk, all is back to normal. Great product even a simpleton can use it, follow on screen instructions and you are home free.

has it done the trick? 2005-10-10
seems to have worked, but it's hard to say. We still have occasional glitches with DVDs, but less than before. Who's to say whether it's the player or a scratched DVD??? The verdict's still out.

Works with DVD Recorders, too! 2005-09-06
I was about to retire an old standalone DVD recorder, because it would no longer let me create menus or finalize discs. I bought this lens cleaner and -- voila! -- the recorder is working again. Super easy to use (it's simply a DVD that you insert into your machine, and the menus tell you what to do). Highly recommended.

A Good Product 2008-02-08
I've just used it once. Seems OK
Is it all that important to do?

Can't find anything that will read it 2007-12-11
I've tried this cleaner in everything that I can put it into in my house (2 DVD players, 2 CD players, and 2 DVDrom drives on the computer)and haven't had anything read it yet. It either says "NO DISC" or just keeps spinning trying to read it. Sure will be easy to return I hope.

Works on LITE-ON DVD recorder 2007-07-12
Fixed the problem. Recorder did not recognize its own recordings and I could not finalize the disks. Could not read the disks; invalid disk error message. I started having these problems after recording about 100 DVDs. After running the cleaning cycle everything returned back to normal. Speaker test was also helpful; polarity was reversed in one of the speakers.

Excellent product 2007-04-05
My lite-on DVD recorder was unable to erase DVD+RW disc. After using Maxell DVD-LC DVD Lens Cleaner, it works fine. Now I can record/erase my DVD+RW as before. Excellent product!
