After a little more than a year this piece of junk broke down.....customer service said it was the gears and wanted about $25 for a repair kit (includes outrageous postage). I would avoid Fellowes..this is my second poorly performing machine.
Fellowes paper shredder

I am very pleased with my new Fellowes cross cut paper shredder.
I wanted a shredder like my previous one; however, they evidently
discontinued making that particular one and suggested this one.
After receiving it, I find I am very pleased with its performance and the price was satisfactory.
Stopped Working - Almost Exactly Timed with 1-Year Warranty 2006-10-10
I took good care of this shredder, having gone through multiple shredders, thinking that if I oiled as instructed etc. that this one would last, unlike all the other shredders I have owned. This one had fairly good reviews and seemed like an appropriate purchase for me. However, it stopped working almost to the day timed with the expiration of the 1 year warranty. When I contacted the company about the warranty and about suggestions as to why it just STOPPED, literally, they never responded to my requests (via E-mail_, and unfortunately I was never able to make contact with a live body via telecommunications.
Bottom line, I would not purchase again, and at present have not replaced the shredder. I'm almost convinced that if you don't spend a fortune on a shredder they are just a waste of good money. : (
Lets me shred credit card offers without even opening the envelope! 2006-04-16
Contrary to an earlier posters comments, I have been able to shred entire credit card offers without even opening the envelope! Even the ones that contain a fake plastic credit card inside! This is why I bought this shredder, and so far (8 months) it has given me no problems whatsoever. I saw the replacement model for this (PS-65C) and it looks ugly. I think I would try to buy a PS-60C if you can still find a source...
This is a really good product for the price.
A Good Home Shredder 2006-03-28
This shredder replaces a $30-40 Tech Solutions shredder that I just couldn't deal with any more. It was aways jamming even if I fed the paper in one sheet at a time.
The PS60C-2 works flawlessly. It's relatively quiet and hasn't jammed once. I recently shredded a large quantity (several hundred pages) of paper over a period of a couple days with no problems.
The head is somewhat heavier than my old one but that's really not a problem.

Very good performance at a reasonable cost 2006-03-20
Purchased the shredder a few months ago. Immediately put it to work shredding old bank statements, personal papers, and that endless stream of junk mail that had been piling up. It ran flawlessly for numerous hour long or more shredding sessions until I got caught up on the "to shred" piles. Out of habit, from my old shredder, I pulled most staples but when I missed one the PS60C-2 never fliched. I probably averaged five or six sheets at a time but if I put in eight or ten, it slowed slightly but never quit or jammed. The only down side I have noticed and most shredders probably do this is to fill up the fairly quick when doing a lot of shredding, especially under the teeth. I normally rock the shredder back and forth a time or two to settle the material and then continue. I bought my mom one for Christmas so she could shred her junk mail. I would recommend the PS60C-2 to anyone for home or light office use.
Good unit 2006-03-11
While not perfect this is a good unit. As other reviewers have said if you shred for too long (20 minutes or so) it will shut itself down and then you need to unplug it and let it cool off. While not great for high volumes it does great on 3-5 sheets at a time, has no problem with staples, old credit cards and I've even shredded some CD's with data on it. Although I wouldn't reccomend that last part.

I've used this shredder for a month or two now, and have shreded hundreds of pieces of various types of paper. I have been very pleased with it. It truly does shred several sheets of regular paper at a time into confetti-sized pieces. It's fairly quick, and much more quiet than other small shredders I've used. Its manual is decent, and I've had no problems with the machine while I've followed the instructions. Its basket's window is very helpful, as it enables you to easily see when it's time to empty the basket.
Fellowes PS-Series Cross Cut Shredders 2006-01-11
I purchased the Fellowes shredder on sale in 2005 and was initially pleased with its capability. Although I never shredded paperclips, I occasionally passed a staple through the cutters (probably two per session) without incident. I rarely overheated the unit (three times), and never passed more than 5 sheets through the cutters at one time (it was rated to accept 7 sheets of similar-stock paper). For the first month, this was the level of performance I'd come to expect. (Note: I generally shredded smaller amounts every day, or two, rather than designate one day as a "shredding day".)
However, as if overnight (and totally unrelated to any material passed through shredder, unless the unit suddenly developed a dislike for paper of any type), the shredder began thumping (akin to a thump punctuated by a sharp "clap") and refused to accept more than 2-3 sheets at a time. Further, jams became far more common (to the extent that my sessions of removing confetti bits with tweezers literally lasted longer than the low batch shredding that I planned to do) - and far more difficult to extricate. It was at this time that I noticed broken "fingers" to the sides of the cutters (as noted by at least one other reviewer). I further reduced the cutting cycle and was soon faced with only a 1 sheet-per-cycle capacity, jamming on almost every batch (I'd long since stopped shredding any staples), and, finally, functionality only in reverse.
When I finally declared the shredder useless, I endeavored to discover the problem: not only had several mechanical components become misaligned (the cutter guides, splay fingers, and conduit guide), but a crack had developed under the cutter drive assembly. This crack allowed confetti and other shredded detritus (including a few of the shredder's splay fingers) to enter the motor bay and found the drive assembly to the point where not only was everything coated with solidified waste, but the mass had actually accumulated to such an extent that the sheaths - fore and aft - that had served as cutter guides were spread apart - thus widening the shredder's base frame and separating it from the external (upper) cowl. The thumping/clapping I heard was actually the cutters slowly spinning, hitting the solidified mass, not finding enough room to turn, and actually splitting the motor frame (and then allowing it to spring back into "relative" shape).
I felt that, rather than press Fellowes for a second unit, I'd rather post my results on Amazon to let folks know that the inferior design of this product lead to its demise. Insufficient sealing, inadequate spacing between the cutter guides, and an overestimated capacity to shred more than a load I'd describe as "light duty" contributed to a mass retention of confetti, oil (although I only oiled it once, since this was recommended once/month), and plastic (shredder) bits that nearly literally blew the shredder apart.
For the record, I reiterate that I never shredded, nor attempted to shred, paper clips or CDs, nor did I ever attempt to exceed the documented capacity of the model. I oiled it once and let it adequately cool if my duty cycle was anticipated to be a little larger than previous loads.
In closing, please be wary of thumping and clapping on any Fellowes machines...I've heard some demonstrator models in larger office supply stores making the same noises. Closer inspection revealed similar problems.
