Someday

My wife wants crown molding in the dining room. Someday I will have to install it, and I am ready when I am no longer able to push it any further into the future.
makes crown moulding less difficult to cut / install

Not much to say here they speak for themselves. Crown stops are great for holding the material where it needs to be for cuts. there are alternate methods like hot gluing a piece of wood to the deck of your miter saw... but what do you do if you have to cut a 2x4? I love the stops, they are well worth the money.
The best way to cut Crown molding.

Stops work fine for cutting crown molding so you don't have to cope inside corners. The stops fit fine but are over-priced.
Crown moulding is just too easy now

I've suffered with a lot of waste trying to cut crown moulding exactly right. After getting the crown stops for the Dewalt miter saw, it's a piece of cake. I should know because I'm a CPA but love to put up crown moulding now in my house. I'm working on doing every room in the house and with the stops, I really don't mind buying the expensive mouldings now as there's very little waste and the corners fit great!
Crown Stop a Must

Nice addition w/ your miter saw, when it comes crown moldings, it keep the molding in place
P.S. install washer on the tightening knob, this will keep the bracket from moving, when tightening
the finishing touch

When it comes to cutting crown molding you often find that you have to work with the stock upside down and backwards in order to make the perfect cut. Most of us have at one time or other tried to make a jig for our miter saws, but the clamps always get in the way. To make accurate cuts every time on your Dewalt miter saw use the Dewalt Miter Saw Crown Stops. Two stops included for working on both sides of the blade, the adjustable stops accurately position crown molding against the saw’s fence. Use for Dewalt models DW703, DW706 & DW708.

I guess I need more skills...
2007-06-21
Because I think I need these things. I've been a trim carpenter for only 25 years and I'm always looking for ways to make the job easier, faster, and turn out better. These stops are easy to use and they work. Not on really big crown as D. Clarkson mentioned so only 4 stars but fortunately I don't have to deal with that too often. If so I'll use his idea with the extensions.
Save your money

If you think that you actually need these things then you probably need more skills not more tools. I found them to be awkward to work with (especially when working with several moldings at once) and completely unnecessary.
May be able to do without.

I picked up these for some crown work but the crown molding we chose is so small the these were not required. could have saved myself a couple of bucks but maybe I will find another use for them.
not perfect

These stops are a great idea, some other brands have included them with the saw,not DeWalt.. they work great but miss the mark for a perfect score because they don't extend to the full capacity of my saw (DW716)I often cut large crown and have had to weld extentions onto these to make them work for this aplication..But if your cutting crown under 6" your all set
