A Picture Framer's Delight

In addition to woodworking I like to paint pictures. Often when someone asks me for a painting I make a frame for it also. This clamp is really good! Even pressure on all four corners (or more if you buy the extra corner blocks). The ease of use is well...easy; very easy. With the two take up adjusters you can smoothly and accurately glue just about any angle. If you do a fair amount of glue-ups, you need this!

Clever Design -- Very Usable -- Tension is Limited

I found this product to be very useful. I created 4 cabinet doors with it and it performed quite well. The only issue I had was that one or two of the pieces of wood that I used had slight warping and the tension produced by these clamps was not sufficient to overcome the defects in the wood.

Serving tray savior

I have been crafting serving trays and never found a good way to clamp a side cut at a 30 degree angle. This does the job beautifully. I now own two.

While the strap has approx. 1100 lbs. of tensile strength, the crank mechanism is inadequate to produce much clamping force at all.

Framework is impossible without - this thing is sweeeeeet!

DEC 2004 ENTRY: I can't believe how nice this stap clamp from Bessey is. Because it's designed so well, the product worked easily right out of the box ... no instructions needed. Two things make this device work well: 1. corner/angle plates and 2. the tensioner. First the angle plates have unique swivel pads so they fit up to the frame and provide even pressure without damaging the frame. Second, the tensioner is so easy to use, yet extremely powerful - can really ratchet down on the frame to close up the not so perfect miter joints. DEC 2005 UPDATE: I'd give this clamp a 6 if I could. This is the only clamp that's designed to clamp more than 4 corners/sides. I was able to so successfully glue an 8-sided octagon frame together. To my amazement, all the joints were perfect when I took the clamp off the next day [see my picture of a in-laid granite lazy-susan]. I really love this clamp. Does what a million other corner clamps can't ... turn out perfect frames every time. I was so impressed with the value of this clamp that I bought my brother one. Again see my posted picture - notice the seamless joints.

Wish I had it sooner

Used this to aid in aligning the top of my workbench and it was perfectly suited to the task. Everything held fast while I marked the holes, drilled and drove it all together. Can be a little awkward to position the clamps until pressure is applied, but just takes some patience.

Works Well on Thin Wooden Strips

I needed to glue back together at the ends thin stips of wood together for a tri-fold room divider. These strips were 1/2" x 5/8" x 48" and 1/2" x 5/8" x 20", which would be a challenge to glue together flat and square. I took a chance that this strap clamp could do the job from reading the other reviews. Using this strap clamp I successfully glued together each of the three panels for the tri-fold room divider. Each of the panels came out flat and square. I was pleased and amazed.

Really good tool

I gave this to my husband for Christmas for a surprise. He has never asked for one, but I thought it looked neat. He LOVES it! He has used it several times. He has made a picture frame and fixed one that was broken. It works really well, and he is very pleased with it.

Great product, easy to use

I received this product for Christmas and it has worked out great! I have been making frames to streach canvas on. The tool is easy to use and makes a square frame everytime. I have had no problems with it and it is very simple to use. I highly recommend this tool for anyone who makes frames or dabbles in woodwork.

Bessey sstrap clamp

I have used several types of band clamps over the years. They all get the job done but the Bessey clamp does it faster and easier. A little pricy for the occasional user, but worth it if it you have a need often for a band clamp. You will probably want at least two.
