I wish I would have thought of this!

By far the best thing on the market for cabinet guys. They are super easy to use, and make for a very fast install. I spent $80 for mine (sears), but i would pay it again. I have had my clamps for 3 years and use the heck out of them. (except for on the euro style cabinets- no face frame)

Fantastic tool

I used these recently to install a bunch of base cabinets. It went very quick and I was impressed with the quality and usefullness of the clamps. Can you install cabinets without them? Absolutely. Do they make it easier? No question. The only drawback to using these is that the hole for pre-drilling the holes for the screws is deep enough that you can't totally see the hole when the bit is drilling. Not a big deal for just predrilling the hole but a bit of a pain if you are drilling with a countersink bit for the head of the screw. I overdrilled with the countersink bit a few times because I couldn't see how much wood I was eating. I'm sure this wouldn't be a problem if you simply took your time and drilled a tiny bit at a time. As I said, it only happened once or twice.

good tool, needed a little tweaking

The cabinet claw is a pretty decent tool although I had to tweak a couple of small things during the first few times I used it. The handles had a large mold line mark on them that hurt my hands until I filed them smooth. The edges of the drill alignment hole on the side of the claw had to be beveled with a large countersink bit so that my drill/countersink bit would fit into it. The biggest gripe I had was the drill bit that came with it was bent and not very sharp. I was pleased with the good price and shipping that I got on Amazon.

Best Clamp for the Money

These clamps are the best for a cabinet install. Two friends (contractors) have already borrowed and have made the same comments.

Worth the money

More convenient and faster than using C-Clamps. If one of the stiles refuses to go back flush after tightening up the clamp I use a card board shim only on the side of the stile that needs to be coaxed back flush with the with the other stile. Card board shim strips used for drywall work great.

Well worth the money, why did I wait so long?

After years of using hand clamps, I thought I would give these a try. I couldn't believe how much nicer these were to use. The drill guide is used for the pilot hole and then you swing the guide out of the way and finish with the countersink bit. Put the screw in and you on to the next. A depth stop on the countersink bit makes it easy to stop but I did found that a piece of tape works a little easier and it doesn't get in the way of the drill guide. Since I don't do this for a living, the price from Amazon makes this well worth the money. The tool is made to last a more than a lifetime so it would be something that would be passed down or on to someone else.

One of a kind clamp

The Pony cabinet claw clamp is the only clamp that can be used to line up face frame cabinets in two planes. The clamp can be used to clamp two cabinet side face frames together, align them and then provide a drill guide to join them together. The clamps are of good quality and perform well.

Helpful, but only for high volume installers

These are very helpful when connecting two flush cabinets together, but most kitchens only have a few of such connections. These clamps obviously don't work when attaching a cabinet to a side panel at the end of a cabinet run, or when attaching a cabinet to a 45 degree corner cabinet, etc. The drilling hole in the side is convenient, but doesn't allow you to use a countersink bit because the hole is too small in diameter (at least for the standard countersink bits that I have), so if you want to countersink your face frame screws, which most people do, you have to take off the clamp after drilling your pilot holes, and then re-clamp prior to screwing.

The clamps are high quality construction and work as advertised, but are expensive. If you only have a few cabinets to install, don't spend the money on these. A good pair of quick release clamps and a little extra time is your better option. But if you are a professional installer that does high volume, then I think these are worth it.

Beware of plastic

Worked well until the plastic wing which swings in and out of place for hole drilling and screw placement cracked. Once cracked a few more uses and it sheared sending a little ball bearing and spring into outerspace.

Mine were purchased over a year ago hopefully the manufacturer has changed the design of this fragile part.
