No Surprises with this Gem

I bought this floor stapler after many hours of research. I was installing 325 sqft of 3/4" Brazillian Teak (Cumaru) over 3/4" plywood using 2" staples. Brazillian Teak is more than twice the hardness of oak. I was worried about how hard teak was and whether a stapler could handle it. Let me assure you, it wasn't an issue. This stapler had no problems with the hardness of the wood. It performed flawlessly for the whole installation. No regretes with this purchase (except the spousal unit wants me to do two more rooms).
Excellent Product

I loved this product. This floor stapler made it very easy to do our floors. This was the first time we had ever put a hardwood floor down and thinks to this product it was easy. This stapler is easy to use and makes the job move faster. I cannot say enough good things about this product.

Industry standard - buy it

No reason not to purchase this stapler if you have to install hardwood flooring. The only alternative is normally a floor nailer, and I tend not to like them since the staple seems to seat better. With floor nails I have often had to pry/bust out or use a nail set to make sure the tongue fits in the groove. Bostitch thus has the best product for T&G flooring in my opinion. I don't do it for a living, but I have personally installed over 5000 sq. ft. in 3 homes.
Good but not great

We installed 3-1/4" brazilian walnut with this stapler and it worked very well most of the time. Every now and then it would mangle a staple and the staple had to be manually removed. When the staple was mangled it sometimes split the tongue on the board, but not a big deal. We noticed that we had to keep the psi between 85 and 88 for this type of wood since it is so hard. Overall though the stapler functions well and is made of quality materials.
A spectacularly reliable tool

I used this product to install my first-ever pre-finished hardwood floor.
It has the power to go through the hardest woods (I used maple).
It never jammed, and the special foot designed for pre-finished wood left my floor mar free.

Does a beautiful job in making installation easier. One negative--design is such that when you are close to wall, must do hand nailing.
10's of Thousands of Staples Later, Still Old Reliable
2007-04-02
I'll admit this is the only flooring stapler I've ever owned. After shooting 10's of thousands of staples in thousands and thousands of square feet of flooring, this stapler is still 100% reliable. I have never had a single jam, and I've installed every kind of hardwood you can imagine. Occasionally, I do split a tongue, but it is so infrequent that it probably owes itself more to the integrity of the tongue on a particular piece of flooring, or just a slight misalignment of the stapler on the tongue. I can't imagine trying any other brand of stapler, although I'm sure there are other staplers that can match the reliability and durability of this Bostitch. It's just that I've grown so confident and comfortable with the performance of the Bostitch, why change now?
