just great

works great, can't complain at all, love the fence. Makes my inexpensive Makita saw worth 10 times as much. Well built and compact. mounting system returns the saw to square each time I fold up for transport and set up.

I bought my Rousseau 2700 saw stand ten years ago. I'm a professional Trim carpenter & use this stand with my 2708 8 1/4" makita table saw 5 days a week 52 weeks a year . I have replaced the table top with a new plastic top. It's still very acurate And cuts square. I have bought a new one for a 10" makita table saw because I need 2 table saws. Thanks Rousseau for a great product.
Leveling table to saw
2007-12-09
Leveling the saw to the stand was an issue but took litle time. Once leveled, no other adjustments are ever neccessary (with the same saw). It's quiet easy to remove the table from the stand and shim, as required, with washers.

My husband and son both own this and just love it. It is very useful to them with their saws. Would recommend it to anyone who is in construction and has a table saw.
Sturdy, but not a drop in

I read the reviews before I made my purchase. The reviews were a mixed bag and my review may be a summary of others. This is a fine, well contructed table. I like the way it folds - but even better, how sturdy it is when erected. This table does not shake or wobble as you might expect a folding table to do.
I have two areas of criticism:
1. I have a 2703 Makita saw and ordered the right table model. This saw 'drops in' but is not perfectly level with the table surface. It is ok for the framing and trim work I have done, but finer, cabinet work could be an issue.
2. The rip fence is very sturdy and was one of the reasons I wanted this table. The Makita fence is not great. However, I find I have to 'play' with the fence to get it to lock where I want. The fence tends to 'jump' slightly as you lock it. This is frustrating to deal with. Again for the work I have done, it was an issue I could work around, but for more accurate cuts this would present a real problem
Good table saw table, amazingly painful installation

This basic stand extends rip capacity to 27 inches while increasing fence accuracy of benchtop table saws. The folding legs bring the saw up to a comfortable working height of 34-1/2 inches. The high-pressure laminate top increases the work surface of the saw by nearly 90%. Setup and breakdown of the unit are extremely quick. Once the saw, fence, and hairline indicator have been calibrated, the line-up system returns the saw to its original setting, ready for use. For use with Makita model no. 2703, Hitachi model no. C10RA, and DeWalt model no. DW744.
A must have

If you are working on site this is a must have saw stand. Very solid and stable, and the fence is accurate. The only down side is the weight.
not for dewalt saws

I've used this stand with other saws in the past and found it to be outstanding. However, I would not recommend this stand for anyone who has the DeWalt DW744 table saw. You have to remove the entire existing rack & pinnion fence system (quite a bother) and then try to set the stand up to hold the saw tightly in place. This was not easy either, nor were the instructions helpful. Also, the table to the side is lower than the surface of the table saw and must be shimmed up to match. While I think this is a great product for most saws, I'm not pleased so far with how it fits my DeWalt.
Review upgraded to a 3-stars - some problems fixed...

After reading all of the reviews here I bought the 2700XL for my Makita 2703. I thought that it would be an improvement with regard to the fence and add some much needed table space. I realize in retrospect that I should have just sold the 2703 and bought a new saw. Here are the issues:
Fighting with the nylon mounts - Rather than attach to your table saw in any stable fashion it is designed so that your saw rests on nylon ring mounts. These are extremely frustrating to get set up properly for a tight fit. As you screw in the bolts (from underneath the table) the rings invariably move throwing you out of square. Right off the top of my head I can think of a half dozen ways this could have been done better. Poorly done.
Even more poorly done - what I would call a MAJOR DESIGN FLAW: there is absolutely no way to level the 2700XL to your table saw. After I was done fighting with the nylon mounts I was horrified to find that the 2700XL table sat a good 1/16" below my saw bed. Try moving the fence across and "clank!" Its a "no go." What's worse - apparently not anticipating this, Rousseau incorporates exactly ZERO ways to adjust the height of the table or saw to correct for it. I was able to get around this eventually by unscrewing the 2700XL table and inserting washers underneath. Again, I can easily think of several ways to prevent this - for example, mounting the table on adjustable thumbscrews. Makes you wonder what they are paying their engineers for (?!?)
Poor instructions - Although it was not mentioned in the relatively meager instructions, there are hex nuts that you can adjust to square the fence that are hidden on the inside of the fence. It took me a few weeks to figure that one out. Perhaps if I was a table saw pro I would have known that but why not include it in the instructions guys...why?
One positive thing I can say about this product is that it seems sturdy when the legs are unfolded. Also, once set up correctly the fence seems pretty accurate. This is NOT, I repeat, NOT a portable solution. Heavy and no wheels. Very unwieldy to move around and no wheeled base is available.
In the final analysis, I am not sure why anyone would buy this rather than just get a better saw in the first place. The onyl reason I could think of would be to have a bigger table stand at home and be able to pick up the saw and go with it...I would just have two saws. For me this was throwing good money after bad.
Homeowner's Delight

This table is a delight. The cutting accuracy is incredible. Having recently retired, I'm catching up on 30 plus years of "honey-do's", including house remodeling. The large table space and the ease of operation are features not found on other saws I've owned. The portability is a major plus. Highly recommended.
