Worth the money

I delayed for years buying a Starrett combo square because of the price. Now I have one from Amazon and it's worth every penny. Lettering is sharp and precise. Slide movement is smooth and tight and the metal alloy is rust proof. I'm glad I made the move and I recommend this item for the serious woodworker.

For $80, it is real bargain. Every woodworker and carpenter should have this one. Do not need to buy inexpensive and frustratingly bad ones from Lowe's and Home Depot.

The Best Period

I was a precision toolmaker for 11 years and only worked with the best precision tools. Anyone who is a machinist, toolmaker, or tool & die maker knows the name Starrett means quality precision tools. This tool is true to the Starrett name. Enough said. I no longer work in the toolmaking industry, so I will use this for my woodworking hobby.

outstanding and useful tool

This tool has become the centerpiece of my woodworking - it serves as a square, measuring, layout, and marking tool. The quality is absolutely outstanding, as are all the Starrett tools I've used. I highly recommend this addition to your tool set.

Just do it

Hemmed and hawed over the price. Finally had to buy one for a class that didn't want me to use the General I got at Home Depot for a about 1/5 the price. The Starrett is finally worth the money. The quality difference is huge. It will be the last one you buy.

If you need accuracy in a square

Starrett C33H-12-4R 12-Inch Combination Square with Square Head Only One spends this much money for a square to get accuracy. Starrett is world renowned for accuracy in their tools. However, the first unit shipped by Amazon was not square when checked against 3 different machinist's squares. Amazon promptly replaced the first unit and the 2nd model is square as expected. Thanks, Amazon.

Starrett combination square

I recentley ordered the Starrett comb. square that I needed in my furniture shop for a long time as my old square was not accurate to say the least. I find the new Starrett everything I had hoped for, right on the money for 90 and 45 degrees, well machined and marked, and smooth to adjust. My only regret is that I did not get one sooner.

Excellent workkmanship and accuracy. Starrett measuring tools are the best obtainable and can be handed down for generations. Best of all, they are made in the good 'ol USA!
