Editorial Review
This framing nailer is a remodeler’s dream. The width of the nailer, from tip to exhaust port, is less than 14". This means it can fit between joists, rafters, and studs 16" on center. This is an invaluable feature when blocking, sistering joists and the like. This framing gun is one of the lightest on the market today, is well balanced, and has minimal recoil, which reduces arm fatigue when using the tool all day.
It has tool-less adjustable exhaust port and was one of the first nailers to have an adjustable nail depth-of-drive option on the tool. It requires a hex wrench, which is located on the tool. This feature allows you to set the proper depth of the nail you are driving on the nailer, instead of turning down the pressure on the compressor, or yelling down from the roof for someone else to do it and trying to coordinate the right amount. This is particularly important when switching from 16d nails, used for framing studs, joists, etc, to 8d nails, used for sheathing. The pressure required to drive a 16d is much greater then that required to drive an 8d, and will overdrive the 8d nail, sometimes to the point where it goes entirely through the sheathing, not holding it all to the stud, rafter or joist. The inspector won’t like that. This tool has never jammed on me, but if it does, the nose piece is easily removed with the on-board hex wrench to clear the jam. This framer has a rafter hook so you can hang it from a rafter, joist or ladder, when you need both hands to pull up the next rafter, for example; a very handy feature.
This tool has remained virtually unchanged for almost 7 years now. Every other company has copied this tool in recent years and has added fancy features. This Paslode framer is still a great competitor to every other gun out there. It’s quite durable too. Mine has been dropped quite a few times on slabs, off ladders and even off the roof a few times and it is still functioning normally. The most abuse my gun has ever received is over oiling by apprentices. 3-5 drops per day is enough, not 20.
This framing nailer has a safety feature that prevents the last 3 nails from firing. This prevents accidental firing of those last nails which has been a problem in the past. I’m surprised that not every new tool made since has this feature.
The nailing tip is sharp enough to grab studs when toe-nailing, but could be a little sharper. The magazine holds 2 clips of clipped head nails, up to 3 ½". The magazine has inch markings to help with nailing schedules, when nailing off sheathing. Regular and sequential triggers are available; mine came with both.
This is a great tool to use for framing and a must for remodeling, from the company that created the first framing nailer.

I just finished my first day with this wonderful framing nailer. It easily doubled my output, erecting a self-designed shed about a third of the way in less than four hours. (Ten years ago I did all the work with a hammer. That was insane.) The price on Amazon, together with free shipping & no tax, made it a killer deal. Plus, my Paslode made it into my hot little hands in about seven days.
Others wrote excellent technical reviews and said nice things, so I won't repeat those here. I did discover the depth-of-drive adjustment works for fine tuning, but found you can alter this dramatically by running 100 psi (the upper end of the range), instead of around 80 psi (the lower end). Remember this when driving into 6-by's or larger with 3 and a half inch nails. Most experienced construction guys probably know this, but a neophyte like me found out by trial-and-error. They do not give you this hint in the literature.
Anyhow, awesome tool that I'm sure my wife will find me numerous projects to use it on. Buy with confidence.

I picked up a gently used F350S at the framing contractor supply store (not a pawn shop). I still have my NR83A Hitachi as well.
The depth setting does take a few test shots to ensure that the nailheads are seated appropriately, though I could probably scratch a mark on the safety to indicate the flush setting.
The newer models of this nailer come with a small rafter hanger included. Mine did not have this feature and I am more accustomed to the L-bracket of aluminum that hangs on the air nipple at the back of the nailer.
A very light and well-balanced piece of equipment.

My company builds several houses each year and many decks each spring and summer so I work my framing gun hard. This is the third brand of nailer I have owned and with this one I finally got it right. I almost bought this one last time I purchased a gun and always wished I had. The guys I worked alongside all winter long in extreme conditions had paslodes and they worked in the cold and sand while my dewalt needed new o-rings twice. I have always enjoyed the balance and low recoil of this gun and it toenails better than any other gun. Now that they added the wonderful rafter hook, this gun is priceless, and it is the least expensive on the market. Paslode also makes a roundhead nail for this gun for those of you in areas where code requires that. What a winner. 5 stars for sure.

This has to be the best air nailer on the market. Ease of use, consistant drive depth, lay out makings on nail rail. Also it can use clip head or round head nails, so you have a few more options when you are purschasing nails. You are not locked in to one brands nails and price. This is by far the best gun I have ever used. It was recommended to me by a friend who has been a proffessional frammer for over 25 years. I am glad that I took his advice

As the owner of a professional custom wood crating shop, we fire 1000's of nail monthly. This is by far the worst product we have ever used. It came miss firing and not firing from day one. Our supplier thought we were crazy, but upon checking w/ the factory it was discovered to have a Paslode known problem. (The old nieve corporate mentality - getting the customers $$ and worry about it later)It was updated and repaired several times, but continues to not fire and blow air either from the head or trigger (apparently from poor fitting internals). We can not deal with this piece of junk. It's headed to the dump.....
one of the best nailers

I work on a framing crew of a couple guys. We have tried several different brands of nail guns- hitachi, dewalt, and others, but this has been the gun we all agree is the best. Some brands may be slightly lighter, but with the rafter hook, round head capacity and power that this has it's a winner. We push our tools, and other brands couldn't take it- my gun has been going 3 1/2 years, and aside from from a few minor repairs it has run well.
Accepts round head nails

I thought it was important to mention this nailer can accept round head nails (Paslode Roundrive 30 degree fasteners). After researching different nailers, I came across the issue of building codes in different parts of the country either not allowing clipped head nails, or trending in that direction. Not being a professional, I don't know if this is old news, as I didn't notice any clipped head nails in stock at Lowe's in Charleston, SC. I didn't look too hard though. I also didn't find any 22 degree Porter Cable nails for the FR350A. If they had them, they didn't have many.
Anyway, I had my mind made up to buy the PC FR350A even though I didn't like the plastic collated nails & always considered the Paslode to be about the best, but when I saw the Paslode could use the round nails (found in abundance at Lowe's) I spent the extra money on it. I've used an old beat up one before, working with a contractor, and it was rugged and reliable. I just wish it had some of the features of the less expensive Porter Cable, such as the carrying case, tool-free adjustable exhaust and tool-free adjustable depth of drive.

Great nail gun.

This was my first framing nail gun, and a good one. It feels a little heavy but not that bad. I have never had a problem with it. The gun is powerful and a little loud. It will easily sink nails. Have not had any jams so far. It's very easy and fast to load. I'm very pleased with the gun. Wish it came with a case.
