We purchased this bed for our 20 month old son. He is VERY big for his age so he could not stay in his crib for safety reasons. He moves so much at night that we were concerned that he would fall out of bed. We were also concerned that the dramatic change from crib to toddler bed would keep him up all night. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. He slept through the night the very first night. We setup the toddler bed with the crib still in his room and asked him which bed he wanted to sleep in. He was emphatic that he wanted to sleep in the fire truck. I strongly recommend this product to other mothers.

My husband was able to assemble the fire engine bed within an hour (including putting on the stickers) .He used a power drill. My 22 month old son enjoys his new bed. The feature that i like the most - is that the sides of the truck - are high so i don't have to worry about him falling out. That was the number one selling factor for us. I previously bought a regular wooden toddler bed but had to return it - the rails where not high enough - my son would roll right off the bed.
The only reason why i rated this item a 4 was due to the price $$$

My son had always co-slept with us since birth, and I had tried many things and many times to make him sleep on his own bed but to no avail. We woke each other up many times during the night on every slight movements. Not long after he turned 2, I bought him this Fire Engine toddler bed and the magic happened. Ever since we brought it home, he's slept in it every night and even naptime and never once asked to go back to sleeping with us. I had to give up my blanket though, because he loves my blanket and never used his own. So I gave it to him and he never missed our bed again. Also, he doesn't want to move to his room yet so his bed is still in our room. But that's fine. It's been over 6 months and we all have been able to sleep much better. My son can sleep longer and thru the night without any disturbance from each other now. So can I.

I just received the bed this week. I had it put together within an hour. I think the instructions could have been a little bit clearer, but the bed is very very cute. It seems to be very strong too.. I received the bed within 10 days after placing the order, which I thought was great. All it took to put the bed together was an electric screwdriver, and a hammer to tap some of the pieces inplace.

OK my son loves this bed, he slept in it for a little while when I could lay down in it with him. He has slept with us since he was born and we are having trouble getting him to sleep on his own. The bed supports my weight along with my sons. I can no longer lay in it though because I am pregnant and can no longer get out of it due to the raised sides. He still loves to play in the bed though even though he won't sleep in it. I know he will love it once he starts sleeping alone too. He is 23 months so he still has lots of time to grown into it.

I have twin sons who just turned 3 I bought one this bed about 6 months ago. He really likes it, and I WAS happy with my choice. My son is small for his age only about 25lbs, and yet the support board slips out about once a week. My son ends up sleeping on a caved in mattress. Then for the SECOND TIME since we bought this bed I wake to son my crying "Oh no fire truck" Because the bed COMPLETELY fell apart. The screw ends were facing up out of the plastic, and the frame pieces were on the floor. I am not sure what exactly caused this to happen, but any bed that falls apart on a 3 year old TWICE is a piece of junk!

My son is a very active and imaginative 3yo(he was 2yo when we bought it). This bed has managed to stimulate his imagination and live to tell the tales! At first, my wife and I set out to buy a nice wooden bed. I figured it would be sturdier and better built, therefore it would also be safer. But my son wanted "the fireman's truck!!", so we bought it(of course,lol). Boy was I surprised at how well made this bed really is! And safety wise...let's just say that molded plastic is much more forgiving than wood will ever be! And that comes from first hand(er, head) testing by my son!!!
I can honestly say that our next purchase(our other son is 19mos) will definitely be another product by Step2. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Hope this info helps you!!!
PS: We bought this bed when it first came out @ $249.00. So the fact that it's quite a bit cheaper now, just makes it an even better buy.
