Works fine! 2008-07-18
This zero clearance insert works fine. Earlier reviews said it was cheap and flimsey but it seems to do the job for me. I think some people get so obsessed with ultimate perfection that they loose site of the overall picture.

Good, but not great, and takes time to set up 2008-07-01
I love my Bosch table saw, that's why I got this accessory, and I use it most of the time, it just stays in there. However, this was not easy to set up - it was definitely not leveled out of factory, and I had to play with screws supplied with it to make it leveled. It still is not perfect, and needs to be adjusted from time to time, but it does work for me. This is one of those things that makes you wonder whether it was designed and made by Bosch, or outsourced to Asia. Definitely not the quality I have come to expect from Bosch.

Good! Considering my options 2008-05-30
Considering it's the only zero clearance insert I could find for my saw, its not half bad. Comes with four screws to mount to table and four leveling screws. It's made from pretty flimsy plastic so it will flex a little but it hasn't affected any of my work too much. For the price I can't complain.

Not up to the Bosch standard 2007-12-21
I own and use a number of Bosch tools and I've been thrilled with quality of construction and design in each of them (4000 table saw, bosch colt palm router, bosch 3/8" drill).

Which is why I am completely surprised at the terrible quality of these insert plates. They are made of very thin, very flimsy plastic. If you push down on them they will bend. On thin workpieces this means your cut-line can get screwed up if you provide too much (and I'm not talking about a lot) downward pressure! For a product that is supposed to improve the quality of your cuts, these inserts are a failure.

I would not buy these plates. If you need a zero clearance insert I think your best option is to make your own which is, unfortunately, rather difficult for this particular saw.

nesessary 2007-12-13
This is a must get if you purchase bosch jobsite table saw. The factory blade insert has a wide opening. Pretty dangerous when cutting thin stock. I don't mess around with table saws. If it will save me from injury, without affecting performance, buy it.

awful and unsafe 2007-11-06
For precision cuts at 90-Deg., reduces kerf clearance to thickness of blade. - Specifications: Part Number:TS1005, Used on Model No. : 4000, Sales Pack Quantity: 1.

lacking support 2007-03-08
The insert is made of plastic and when you raise the blade to cut through the insert it cuts it in half leaving very little support when you run material over it. Because it's made of plastic it flexes downward as you run the material being cut over it. This item should be made of metal like the other inserts and have the plastic insert only where the blade comes through. This would provide for better support

Don't bother 2007-01-09
As stated in a few other reviews, a waste of money. Plastic is flexible and does not provide support for small pieces. Make you own from 1/4" plywood.

very sturdy insert 2006-12-19
I bought this for my Bosch 4000 table saw. This is a very sturdy and strong insert. Bosch sells a zero clearance insert, but it doesn't even compare to this. The one I bought is for my dado blade and it works perfectly. It has four adjustment screws on it that allow you to make it perfectly flush with the table.

My only gripe is that it didn't "perfectly" fit the opening in the table. I had to do some very light sanding and then it fit great.

This is the #1 insert for the Bosch table saw.

No support 2006-11-14
It is easy enough to use, but i is made of thin plastic, which offers no suport once cut. It is impossible to level with the table due to the inherent flex in the material. You are better off making your own from wood.
