BuilderDepot is the supplier and seller of this from amazon. Do not use them. They are horrible. They shipped the wrong grill and won't return my calls or e-mails. I think this burgundy grill has been discontinued.
Best grills on the market.

Weber produces teh best grills on the market. The only thing that I don't like about this model is the amount of "counter" space. The Genesis Gold B has extra room that I wish I would have on this model. There really is a difference grilling on this than on inferior grills. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
A Few Words About Weber Customer Service 2001-08-15
I have owned a Weber Genesis 1000LX (Silver B) grill since 1998. This spring (2001) I noticed chipping and bubbling of the paint on both upper and lower sections of the black box. I emailed Weber and they said this was a defect. The paint didn't adhere to the metal. They assured me this was only cosmetic and would not effect operation of the grill so I could safely continue to use it. They would in the meantime ship replacement parts to a local service facility. Because this would require significant disassembly and then reassembly of the grill, they would send someone to my home to replace the parts. Mind you this was the whole box they were replacing because of chipping paint. Within 2 weeks time the mission was accomplished. This kind of support for a product is unheard of in this day and age. I cannot recommend Weber highly enough. They make a great product and back it up with a great support team. I raved about my Weber grill before and now I'm looking for an appropriate encore!!!

This was HARD to assemble. Got it last year. Hamburgers and steaks do NOT cook according to my preference--dark brown on the outside and rare on the inside. This grille seems to be designed for large cuts of meat and vegetables. If the grates were adjustable up and down, it would probably work fine for small cuts. Charcoal in a hibachi works better with steaks and 'burgers than this thing does.
Great Grill 2001-07-10
I bought this grill about a month ago (from Amazon[com.]), and am completely satisfied with it. The assembly was relatively easy and straightforward, and took close to a couple of hours (for senior person--I'm sure younger folks could cut 30 minutes or more off this). The quality of the materials of this grill is impressive, and it produces great results. A few reviews I read before purchasing this grill expressed dissatisfaction with the flavor of food cooked on it, but everything I've done has been excellent. I'd definitely recommend this grill. It costs more than some, but I think it's a good value.

Go Big - Atleast B Big 2001-06-28
Just bought this grill through Amazon, if you are considering between the Weber Silver A and B (or C), I would at least go with the B. I almost bought the A, which is a good size, but if you are the kind of guy/girl that likes the shinny car and big engines, go bigger. The B/C also holds racks of ribs easliy and is ideal for party/family cookouts. As for the C, the side burner sounded useless to me at first, but now I realize I should have got it (it is a separate purchase for the B).
Overall, all Webers are excellent grills (expensive, but great)
Cast Iron Grates! 2001-06-24
This item would rate a perfect 5 stars if it came with cast iron grates. Instead they give you aluminum porcelain grates. The only reason I got this item was because I thought I was getting the cast iron grates.
GREAT MEAL FIRST TRY! 2001-06-20
My Weber Genesis Silver B Gas Grill arrived today, right on time. I opened the box and within a hour and half put it together myself. The instructions are easy to follow and few tools are required. Once together, I decided to rotisserrie my first chicken. After one hour, I checked the temp of the bird with the supplied meat thermometer. Its done! My first chicken was absolutely fabulous. I used a small drip pan with water, butter, beer and hickory smoke flavor below the bird during cooking. The meat melted in my mouth.
Like others, I have purchased my share of cheap department store BBQ's and they all work well for a while. This grill is sturdy, built to last and very easy to use.
I used to think my buddy was the BBQ expert. I found out he was using a weber genesis. It made him the expert! Buy one, they're great.
Fantastic Grill 2001-06-09
A couple of years ago, I bought a very similar Weber Genesis Silver B Gas Grill for my husband for Father's Day. The only difference between this grill and his is that the fold-up shelf is now solid instead of slatted, which is a good improvement. He loves this grill, and everything he cooks on it, from steaks to salmon to veggies, turns out so well and tastes wonderful. If you are planning to purchase this gas grill, I recommend that you also purchase the cover for it, a set of bbq tools, extra aluminum foil drip pans, and a good cleaning brush. There are a lot of excellent cookbooks on grilling, too. If you live somewhere where the electricity goes out a lot, you might want to consider the slightly higher-priced Weber Genesis gas grill with the burner on the right side, as well as buying an extra tank for gas. The grill comes unassembled, but it's easy to put it together in less than an hour's time. Highly recommended!
