Great Stool!

This is the best stepstool ever. I'm vertically challenged so my husband got me one a year ago when we remodeled the kitchen. We don't have a huge kitchen so space was an issue. The fact that it folds up to only about an inch wide made it perfect. It fits under my sink no problem and is VERY sturdy. I'm only about 5' tall but can now reach even our highest cabinets. LOVE IT!!

Sturdy and good looking

Sturdy but flawed

The stool arrived damaged, with one of the metal feet bent. That made the plastic foot cover pop off. The stool must be sturdy, because that metal would not bend back for anything. However, I think it's one of those purchases I'll just have to make in person next time.

what you see is not what you get

See the pretty, silver step stool in the picture? What shows up is a mess of very stuck-on labels. Two large, ugly stickers cover each front leg, a large sticker is under the top step, and another sticker is in front of the top step. It took me hours to get the mess off. I get the impression somebody ignored safety precautions and sued these people, and we're all being punished for it. I selected the more expensive model, because I thought it would be attractive, based on the photo. I'm using it in my living room where the ugliness is not wanted.

As for the stool, it seems a little rickety. I dont' like that the top step folds down. Hope the mechanism continues to work. The plastic release tab is quite flimsy. I am using it as a combination footstool (bottom step) and monitor stand (top step). I'm in a very small RV, so having this fold when it's not in use will free up space.

I have several Polder products and like them, but the abusive stickering on this stool is just absurd.

pinches your fingers

This stool can easily pinch your fingers when closing. Requires two hands to open. We're returning it.

Compact, Sturdy and Easy to use

Good looking, solidly built, with wide and deep non-slip treads, this step stool is both practical and handsome. It also stores in narrow spaces when folded.

Safey issues for little fingers!

The stool is great as far as it's ability to function. It is quite thin which makes it easy to store. It does have a safety issue!!!!! My 3 year old son got his finger pinched when we were adjusting it to push it together. I almost got my finger pinched as well on more than one occassion. My husband welded it together and now it remains in the open position thus, no more pinched fingers. I would think twice before purchasing this one if you have toddlers around. I was right there when my son pinched his finger and it was difficult to open the stool back up to release his finger.

I bought this for my daughter and she loves it. She can keep it between her refrigerator and cupboards and bring it out when she needs it.
It's a great gift.

THIS STEP STOOL IS VERY HANDY FOR REACHING HIGH SHELVES IN KITCHEN CABINETS AS WELL AS FOR MANY OTHER USES. IT FOLDS VERY COMPACTLY FOR STORAGE. I DO HAVE ONE COMPLAINT AND THAT IS THE FLIMSY CARRYING HANDLE. IT BROKE SHORTLY AFTER I RECEIVED IT. I CALLED POLDER AND ASKED ABOUT A REPLACEMENT HANDLE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT SUPPLY ONE, EVEN IF I WOULD PAY FOR IT. CONSEQUENTLY, I COULD NOT GIVE THE POLDER STEP STOOL FIVE STARS.
