maybe okay for fine trimwork, not for demo and tight places

On my very first cut, I hit a hidden nail in a 2x4. Dulled the blade immediatley. This was the only blade that came with the saw. By the way, the blade that is shown in the image that is attatched to the saw is NOT the blade that comes with it. The blade that comes with it is the one with the black bar that sticks out past the cutting edge of the blade at both ends, which makes it imposible to cut up against something with the end of the blade.
I foud that this saw is just not suited for heavy demo and tight places. I am going to try the Multimaster and hope for better results. At least the Multimaster has much more variety in blades, including metal cutting blades.
Bosch....please make metal cutting blades to compete with the Multimaster.

Great product when installing new flooring over old. The door trim is easy to cut without removing it. Makes a difficult job easy and short. I really like this saw. Bosch 1640VS Finecut 3.5 Amp Power Handsaw
Bosch trim saw

Its better than cutting off all the door trim and jambs by hand but only just. The switch is either on or off and the variable speed is a separate wheel. It is unsafe as well as difficult to operate. With the saw turned on, the operater is handling a dangerous tool that could easily cut him. If the switch was designed like a drill switch the operater would have more control and variable speed.
Blade change is easy.

I'm in the process of laying laminate flooring in a rental property. All goes well until I hit the doorways then everything comes to a halt as I struggle to hand cut the door jambs. By the time I'm done I'm nearly conked out. Well, I had to get this thing quick to save my sanity and it works as advertised.
Some tips I feel I should give. 1. Keep firm control of this thing. At times it can "run" away from you. 2. Use the lowest speed that give an adequate cut in order to avoid number 1.
Great tool that has made my day.

I only had four door frames to install trim to, but would have had to add another six hours to the job to peel off the old baseboard just to cut back to allow for the new trim. Not having to re-attach, caulk and paint the baseboard, which may have included repair in some cases, saved a lot of time. The tool took a bit of adjusting to for this application, but well worth the money! A must-have if you are not replacing baseboards.

After the blood, sweat and tears spent on hand sawing two door jams (with 25 more to go), I went to Lowes and bought this saw. It cuts the jams like butter, I did not have those problems such as "vibration" or "too much power" as reported by some reviwers, I find it well worth the money especially when Lowes had the 15% off on power tools that weekend.
Why Did I Wait So Long?

I often have to cut wood flush, and for years relied on a combination of circular saws, sabre saws, and hand saws. It was an ordeal. I bought this saw over a year ago, but it sat quietly in the box... until yesterday. Holy cow! What a difference it makes! Why did I wait so long? Five stars! Fast! Easy! Efficient! Great! No complaints at all!

I had a tough time finding this saw. None of the local "big box" stores carried it. The saw is, as described by others, a tool that will not be used continuously, or much at all, but I used it almost immediately to cut more than a kerf-sized slit behind an inside window frame (molding) over a bathtub. This permitted the installation of plastic waterproof panels underneath the molding (otherwise, the panels would have had to be trimmed with a jigsaw, which would work but not as well). To do that task by hand with some kind of flexible saw would have been extremely labor-intensive, and I am too old for that! The Bosch saw is well made, and worked well. Over a year ago I could have used this saw to trim door casings when installing a tile floor in my home.
Great tool - especially for the money

I bought this tool to undercur door jams for a hardwood floor installation - wow what a snap this tool is. Took no time at all, and the finish cut was very nice. I then used the tool to finish cutting the front nose off some old stair treads on a hardwood stair refinish. Again saved a whole bunch of time and really nice finish cut. I would highly recommend this tool - you will have no regrets buying it.
