Truly Portable Word Processing! 2006-09-11
I am a writer who hates lugging a laptop around. My Dell lasts less than 2 hours on a charge, weighs too much and can't be let out of sight without being stolen. It is useless on the road except for setting up in a hotel room. I have a Palm IIIxe I bought on eBay 4 years ago for under $30.00 but used only as an address and date book. I picked up this keyboard in the past few weeks, combined it with a copy of WordSmith for word processing and now I can't imagine being without it. Everything weighs under a pound, fits in a case smaller than a paperback book, runs about 3 weeks on a pair of AAA batteries and has room enough to hold about 1200 pages. Drop it in the cradle when I get home, perform a sync and everything goes right into Microsoft Word without losing any formatting. Add to that how good the action on this keyboard feels and I can't imagine ever hauling my laptop to Starbucks again.

Palm Key board 2004-08-20
I never really used my palm until I bought this key board. It is great I use it all the time now. The keyboard was like new and works great.

Love it!! 2004-03-30
I really like this item. I like it for school a lot. When I do my reports it is a very cool tool to have. The shortcuts are cool too.

I love this! 2004-03-04
I have had my Palm for about 2 years and bought a keyboard when it was only a couple of months old. I took that one back because it was sold without software. I decided not to buy another one because I didn't want to have to run up to the computer store again.

I'm a journalist, so I'm using my Palm daily now and am always having to pull up the keyboard on the screen. This get's a be a pain when I'm writing a list of interview questions or writing down who I talked to or emailed in a contact log.

The keyboard took less than 5 minutes to install, pop in the CD and add the keyboard will be installed next time you sync your Palm with the PC. I was shocked that it really was that simple.

When I finally have to replace my Palm, I'm definitely going to get another keyboard. This one saves me so much time.

good for typing papers 2003-10-17
During the day when I'm not around a computer I use mine to type papers. Then when I get home I can put it on the computer and format it!

NOT for the m125! 2003-05-08

better than expected 2003-05-01
I received a pleasent surprise. The keyboard was shipped sooner than I expected, arrived in perfect condition and works beautifully. I will buy from this vendor again.

No need for a laptop! 2003-02-21
I bought this keyboard for my Palm IIIc as an alternative to buying a lightweight laptop for writing on the go. It's extremely handy and well-built, and when it's unfolded it's the same size as a standard keyboard, so there's no awkwardness trying to get used to typing on it.

I was considering a laptop only because I wanted to have something I could take with me to write while I travel, so for my purposes the Palm keyboard works very well. It's also very handy for updating calendar and address information, rather than using stylus to write each letter one at a time or tap on the virtual keyboard Palm displays on its screen.

The keyboard folds compactly into a nice size that fits in its own little zippered case, only a little larger than a standard men's wallet. It's durable enough that I can toss it in my bag with my Palm and I carry it around with me everywhere.

The best thing about it is that it doesn't require its own power, has no special accessories, and saps very little from the Palm's battery. In fact, I've never noticed any significant drain on the Palm's battery due to using the keyboard. I think the time I save by typing instead of writing with the stylus makes up for any extra drain it causes.

The keyboard is fairly stable, but it needs to be used on a flat surface so you can't type with it in your lap. I find that the Palm sometimes bounces a little due to the keyboard not lying completely flat, but this is easily remedied by putting a thin magazine or a few sheets of newspaper underneath while using them on a hard surface.

Overall, a great investment for its usefulness, I've been able to avoid spending lots of money on a laptop, at least for the time being.

This is the best add-on for any handheld device 2003-01-04
This keyboard revolutionized my Palm usage. Before it was just an address book with a calendar. Now, I'm using it for everything! I wrote my senior thesis on it using Documents to Go. I take notes with it. Write emails with it. It's awesome. Sure, it's a little unstable, but how often are you someplace without a flat surface? Once it's packed up in its case, it's super strong. It can take a beating. All in all, buy it, you won't regret it.

Smooth 2002-12-31
Smooth! Definitely because it gets installed and running in a jiffy! I havent tried any other keyboards so I am not in a position to compare, but I do know that setting up some accessories can be real tasking.

The feel of the keyboard is very much like that of a notebook computer. There are some "soft foldable" keybaords on the market, for which I have heard people cribbing.

I mostly use it to compose email messages and it surely does make a difference. There is a command key the functions of which (in addition to numeric keys) can be customized to open different programs and utilities. Plus there are default keys to open the most commonly used applications. There is no external power requirement, meaning no additional wires... thank God.

So the question is why did I give it four stars if it so user friendly and functionally adequate? Well, I feel that it is a little bit too pricey. I mean you can get Palm m100 or Palm Zire in its price! But all in all, if you really have the need... go for it.
