I love my Sennheiser Ear Buds!
2008-08-31
I was looking for a cheap, but not too cheap pair of earphones, and stumbled across this gem! These are AWESOME earphones for a small price! I was amazed at the great sound, and they have a super handy volume control on the chord too! Comes in great handy when someone starts talking to me, as my MP3 player tends to be tucked away and locked.
I would definitely recommend these earphones to anyone looking for some good quality sound without emptying the bank! These are great!
bass is lacking !

I owned 2 other sennheiser products, excellent. I thought these ear buds will be as good, but they are not. They seriously lack bass. For 9 USD i guess you cannot expect more from them.
sennheiser mx500 are fakes-beware

My daughter just received her new Sennheiser mx500 earbuds. She is satisfied with the sound, but they are clearly fakes! The cords are two different lengths, the jack has a gold tip, not like is pictured on the Amazon listing, which then came from TigerDirect. They were not in a package, no guarantee, etc. BEWARE FAKES!!!!!
barely average

you get what you pay for. nothing special about these. not bad enough to return, but would not recommend either.
Works fine but too short

Love the small and easy storage container and the sound is fine, though the inline volume adjustment works for only minor tweaks -- not full volume adjustments. The main reason I'm not rating these higher is the short length of the line. I like to watch DVDs on my computer while propped up in bed and the short line means I have limited range of movement before the headphone buds pop out of my ear. Still good value overall and will be great for travel.

The sound quality is great (much better than the regular iPod earphones) and the price is not that high. Plus, the external volume control is great. I amply recommend these.
Uncomfortable earbuds - not recommended

I bougth this earphones few days ago, after reading a lot of opinions, the use is for mp3 listening with my Ipod, they are very uncomfortable, the foam pads are terrible and to obtain the best sound possible you have to insert the earphone inside the tunnel of your ear (insert the tip of the earphone first) this produces a lot of pain and the earbud finally is expelled by the ear...if you wear it in the normal position, the sound is poor, i have a pair of $9.00 SONY who plays better than this.
Great product.

Volume control problems
2007-09-18
I agree that these sound better than the stock iPod headphones, with a fuller sound. However, almost from day one, the volume adjustment gave me problems. Perhaps it's because I used them to run with in extreme conditions of temperature and humidity, but the control itself got messed up, so I was generally fooling with it to make sure I had a clean connection. Sort of annoying. It would cut out the highs, or a channel, or weirdly distort the music. It took me a little while to figure out what was happening. Usually sliding the control up and down vigrously, then pressing down on it, fixed the problem, but not always. The volume control produced an intermittent sound-quality problem. I couldn't understand why the control is necessary in the first place -- whatever you may plug it into has a volume control. Besides that it worked great for years. I'm switching to the MX400, no volume control.
By the way, don't do what I did and attempt to cut out the control by snipping the wires and trying to reconnect them. There are four wires total, each comprised of hair-fine individually insulated strands twisted together. Reconnection isn't going to happen.
