decent and useful 2008-09-06
This book holder is made of plastic and seems a little flimsy, but so far it's holding up decently. The back stand uses two pieces, and is adjustable. There are two tabs in the front which you can move forward and backward so that you can turn pages more easily or insert new books without fear of ruining a page. They are also a problem. I have found that they can pop out from use as they only have a fitted notch keeping them in place at the bottom of the unit.

I can also see how a book larger than 2 inches in thickness can be an issue, as the depth of the base is roughly an inch deep. I've not yet had to work with this (I use it for typing up class notes from notebooks at this time) with a book of that size, but i can picture my coffee cup coming into play if I ever use it with a book of that size.

Love it 2008-08-07
I love this product, it is not only very useful for reading, and very adjustable, it's also very compact. It folds down and can slide into a folder or bag very easily. The price is right too. I've been looking for something like this, because I've hear that such things can improve reading speed. It's totally true.

Simply Perfect 2008-06-30
I consider myself fortunate to have found this as when I was searching, I did not know that it would be a "copyholder" and not a "bookholder".

This is well-designed. It has several different angle adjustments. It is quite robust. It folds down quickly to be quite flat. Especially appreciated is that the use of the fingers which can hold the pages at the bottom is optional; they can remain folded down. This allows ease in turning pages.

I use it every day to allow reading while I have lunch and I am sure that I am the envy of the other lunch readers as they struggle with reading their books in their hands or flat on the table.

Fellowes Book Lift Copyholder - For Use with Textbooks and Large Manuals

I received this a couple of weeks ago and have used it periodically. For the price, it is a good tool for books up to just short of 1 3/4 inches thick. I don't know that it qualifies for large manuals and have not found it helpful for that, with the tabs on the bottom of the product. The tabs are about 1 1/4 inches and suppose they could be manipulated to accomodate larger reading material, but have not tried that yet. I would recommend the product with the above limitation.

Fellowes Book Lift Copyholder - Simply marvelous. 2008-02-13
A very handy product to have indeed.
However, would have appreciated it more if it was packed in a smaller box as shipping was based on implied volumic weight by VPOST (not cheap)

Great for holding bigger books 2008-01-31

A (brain)life saver! 2008-01-14
This is a real brain saver! I refuse to read the drivel magazines available at the gym, and sometimes I don't have a magazine to bring. Now I can actually read comfortably - big books and small - as I workout. It's also great for reading at the table while eating. It sticks to its description - I've had no problems with large hardcovers at all.

A Neck saver 2007-12-13
I don't know why it took me so long to figure out I, a college student, needed one of these. IT is a great product with an adjustable (and reinforced) stand to lean at different angles. I holds my heaviest textbooks.

Good holder 2007-11-26
When I first saw the product on Amazon, I thought it would be aluminum or something based on the color. However, although it is plastic, it is a great book holder. It is highly adjustable and compact when you fold it up. Overall a good buy!

Good Value for the Money 2007-11-21
This is an all-plastic book holder (like the 21140). The plastic is thick enough to do the job and does not feel flimsy.

The tab system in back works fine, but I think that if it were taken apart carelessly or maybe even with repeated careful disassemblies, that would be the first part to fail.

Based on my inspection/use of the item, I believe that the individuals who experienced immediate failure probably had been sent defective items.

I, too, wish that a reasonably-priced metal book holder was available, but until it is, this product provides good value for the money.
