This is a nice deal.
You get 3 for a price of one.
My set was flawless.
PHYSICAL PROTECTION
2008-06-13
i am an avid amateur photographer for 20+ years. i used this purchase as a test of "economical" filters. i have B&W on all of my other lenses, but for 7.99 i decided to jump in the boat with all those who say the filter is for mainly protection and does little to help your pics. i used this on the new s 17-50 tamron, which i like for what it does. i now have B&W on this lens, and in my opinion it lifts a veil. even if not, the pleasure of screwing that german filter (so well machined) onto your lens, and realizing that you will probably NEVER have to clean that lens is very reassuring, and worth the price. i have returned the tiffen to Amazon, my fav online. associated equipment: 30d, 2.8 70-200 IS (phenomenal), 24-105 IS, 1.4 50, 1.8 85, 580II. all of this equipment seems to work well, but the L lenses are magical, and the others serve their purposes nicely, but aren't as consistent in giving great fast shots.
Cheap and not bad
2008-06-12
Nothing but cheap. The encasing is careless. I found some dirts on the filtersurface and I had to clean the len even this stuff is new.
Nice
2008-06-02
It was good but it didn't fit the size of my camera lens. It was a size mistake.
Tiffen 67mm Graduated Neutral Density 0.6 Filter
2008-05-31
Not that gradual and "smooth" of a transition as advertised.
There could be a reason the promo pictures of this product are shot at such an angle, but that may just be my spite and paranoia getting the best of me.
Furthermore, the great dilemma with this filter is its line being not only very obvious, but it is in the dead center of the filter. This greatly limits the flexibility and versatility in shots you can get with it. Now let me just say, if you like shooting landscapes and keep the horizon through the middle each time, that's your prerogative (same goes if you crop it later). This is not how I like to do things, and since this is my review, I see this as a major con.
If you are in the same boat as me, I would look up the Cokin filter system which allows you to move the filter up and down to your liking (and is more gradual of a transition between grey and clear). Personally, I'm not using filters as much as I used to and am working with post production more to achieve the effect I'm trying to get (except for polarizers, which are impossible to replicate in post), so I'm not endorsing Cokin either.

Great for long exposure photography
2008-07-17
I've enjoyed using this for long exposure photography. It does what you'd expect. I am using it on a Nikkor 18 - 135 DX lens on a Nikon d80.
Great and Solidly Builty Polarizer
2008-07-10
The polarizer is excellent. It is a very sturdy construction and does it's job very well. What more can you say about a polarizing filter? I would recommend this one.
useful protection, but arrived dirty
2008-06-24
Got it for a week. Fast shipping. It arrived dirty: smears on glasses. I have to clean it first. It then works fine and seems to be a useful protection.
Worth buying it
2008-06-22
With this price its really good to buy and protect your lens. I have not seen any glares or any other problems with my pictures i use it all the time.
Dependable
2008-06-19
Tiffen filters, can be looked through with confindence.
Tiffen, has set the industries standards for quialty.
So, when YOU, take out that new lens from the box, hold it in one hand and with the other hand screw-on your new Tiffen protective filter.
It's worth it.
