This tool bag is not big enough. I wanted to get 2 or 3 of them and store my 18 volt set in them. This bag is not big enough to put one Dewalt cordless finish nailer in it. The height of the bag won't accommodate a normal sized screwdriver or channel-locks to be stored vertically in the pockets with the lid closed. The interior and outside pockets are too blousey. They should build a larger, foot locker type version with the same hard-sided/bag idea, but actually make it usable.
I returned this.
Great Storage for DeWalt Tools

This tool bag DEWALT D6050 17-Inch Ballistic Nylon Tool Bagis a perfect replacement for the factory supplied plastic storage container that is supplied with the 36-volt DeWalt combo-kit, which has the charger, light, hammerdrill, circular and, reciprocating saws. The factory supplied storage box was found to be low quality when compared to the cost of this combo set. Also, trying to put all tools back into the storage container and be able to close it is next to impossible. All tools fit nicely in this tool bag, and, are very easily put back in and completely closed when finished these tools.

Like one reviewer stated, this bag is more like a tool box than a tool bag. I've used mine to carry all sorts of different gear and tools, quickly throwing whatever I needed for the job into the bag, hooking on the shoulder strap, and heading out the door.
I work in an environment where I am able to have a permanent "tool cage" and similar rolling cases to store my tools in the shop, but I often need to grab a few tools and head off to a job somewhere. This is where these bags come in. I fill them with whatever I need, and off I go. I know this sounds like a task for any old bag, but these tough bags withstand the weight and beating of heavy use without flinching.
I know one reviewer complained about not being able to stand up his drills, but if that were a concern to me, I'd transport them in the original DeWalt hard plastic case. I'm usually in such a hurry that I need something big and reliable to throw my stuff in but not so big that I can't move it.
I also own one of the smaller version of this bag, the DeWalt D6050 (ASIN B0006JKUSW) that I use for a permanent collection of basic hand tools I keep in it at all times. Given the minimal price difference between the two, I could have opted for another D6100, but the smaller model prevents me from overloading it to the point where I would break before the bag!
This is a great bag for any on-the-go pro!
Large and roomy! 2008-02-05
I bought this for my husband as a Christmas present. After he'd used it for over a month, I asked him what he thought of it. He loves being able to throw everything into one bag (he's a carpenter). It's durable, roomy, plenty of pockets. The one drawback, he says, is that if he filled it with as much stuff as it would hold, it's too heavy to carry around the job site! (e.g., when he's doing commercial work, there's a ton of walking compared to when he's doing residential.)
So that's about the one thing that could improve this bag - put it on wheels with a telescoping handle (like a suitcase). :-)

This tool bag is high quality and durable, but I like my tools to stand up in pockets. Your tools in this bag must lay flat in most all cases. small tools and a small quantity may be put into pockets but in the most part you just have to through them in the bottom of the bag and dig.

I love this tool bag. I have owned it for about a year. I am in the heating and air conditioning business and love all the storage. It has plenty of pockets inside and out. Even the guys at work liked it, 2 of which immediatly bought their own. Now I have to watch which bag I throw tools in, make sure it's my own. This bag is very heavy duty and can take abuse. I have owned many different tool bags over the years, and this is by far the best one yet. I would definitly purchase this same bag if this one ever wears out.

Whoa! Wow! Great!
Was exactly what I said when I opened the box and took out my new DeWalt Heavy Duty Ballisitic Tool Bag. The first thing I noticed was the size, second was it's rugged quality, third was the well configured zippered opening complete with an inside velcro pocket for paper work and fourth the well thought out pocket areas both inside and outside the bag! The color even matched my new DEWALT 12-Inch High Tension Hack Saw Frame, Alltrade 150003 Auto-Loading Squeeze Utility Knife, the Sabrr Mark and Cut 5-in-1 Tape Measure, and my Chevy Racing 32 Disc CD/DVD Carrying Case. No guessing which tools are mine! Tunes and tools keep my projects going. This is one awesome heavy duty tool bag geared to let me carry as many tools as I can lift at one time. This DeWalt is one sweet tool bag that will undoubtedly last for years. ~ The Boss
