Worked, but...
2008-08-16
The good news is that this device worked as advertised. It does play a nice "go away" message to people on the other end of the telephone. The issue (at least for me) was that it didn't stop the telemarketers one bit. I ended up just putting my phone on 5 rings before answering machine starts to answer, and only answered phone calls from my family, and that worked a *lot* better.
Small, Easy, BUT PERFECT!

I bought one, just to try it. I loved it so much, I bought 4 more for my house and relatives. I's as EASY as it says in the review above. I recomend it for anyone who hates annoying telemarketing calls. Just PERFECT.

This product is unbelievable! For weeks I have been receiving unwanted calls from unknown callers and 800 telemarketers and as soon as this arrived in the mail, I hooked it up easily to my telephone and to my amazement, it worked beautifully. I only had to press the button once, the other times it just automatically stops the call from getting through. (I know this because I called my home phone from my cell phone and removed my ID) A womans voice says, I'm sorry but this party does not accept calls of this nature, please hang up and dial 1182 then the number.....I highly recommend this product, if you are lucky enough to find one.
Short and Simple review on Zenith ZEP100 EZ Hang-Up
2006-06-12
I was rummaging through old stuff at my parents home and stumbled on this item hidden in a box.
I did an internet search on it to figure out what it was and found the answer.
I decided to plug it into a phone and try it out.
Hmmm the last review was done in 2004. It's now 2006.
My take on this:
Amazingly funny, yet effective how this little device can ward off future call backs.
You can use it on wrong numbers as well. (Actually, anybody that calls you)
*If you have caller I.D, Simply press the button to activate the message. (No need to pick up the phone)
*If you don't have caller I.D and pick up the phone, stop talking press the button and hang-up. (Not as effective as you can see)
So you want to know what it says?
Beep Beep..."I'm sorry this number does not accept this type of call, please regard this as your notification to remove this number from your list."..Beep Beep..."I'm sorry this number does not accept this type of call, please regard this as your notification to remove this number from your list."
I also found the Tele-Zapper in a box and found it useless in regards to NON-Automated telemarketers. (It only works for an automated computer generated phone call) You can't press any button. Do a search for the Tele-Zapper and find out for yourself.
Overall, A great little product. I've used it for two weeks now and noticed that the usual numbers I get are no longer calling. If this somehow becomes too steep of a price to pay, go ahead answer your calls and tell them off, Check your caller I.D and decide not to answer. They will continue to call.
For an added safety measure. Register your number on the "Do Not Call" List. Do a Search.
worth every penny!

I bought one of these on a lark, not expecting it to live up to expectations. After trying it out, I went and bought one for every phone in my house and bought 2 for my parents as well. Now that I've registered my phone w/ the Federal "Do Not Call" list, I almost never get telemarketer calls anymore, but they do occur.
When you get a call from someone you don't want to hear from, simply press the button on this device and hang up. It beeps to get the person's attention and says, "Hello, this number does not accept calls of this nature. Please take this as notice to remove this number from your list. Goodbye." The beeping and the message repeat once and then hang up on the caller, freeing you to do other things.
The red LED on the device lets you know that the automated message is still playing. When the person on the other end has hung up or your device has hung up on them, the LED light turns off, so you know it's safe to pick up your phone.
The sound quality of the message is excellent. There are no tapes - just the message on an encoded chip. It's unfortunate that they didn't set up a way to put in your own message - that would be a hoot!. The voice is obviously from someone who does voice-overs for a living - extremely well enunciated and easy-to-understand.

Zenith Easy Hang UpEASY HANGUP is a telephone accessory that permits the user to hang up on an unwanted sales call. The device will give a short message stating your request to remove your number from their telemarketing lists then it will disconnect the line.
What a Relief

I use this device almost every day. Because I work out of my own home, several different phone numbers funnel into my home. So I get a range of unwanted solicitations.
Installation was extremely easy. It worked immediately.
I still try and tell the salesperson that I am not interested, but if they don't pay atention and continue on their spiel, I hit the button and let the machine take care of it. The message from the machine tells them to take you off their calling list, and maybe even that works, because I don't get calls from stockbrokers anymore, in my experience they were the worst.
In short, its a piece of technology that makes your life easier and lowers your stress level--a rare combination in my experience.
Blast the Telemarketers!

Wow, telemarketers are annoying! I can't tell you how many times I get called each day from some outfit trying to give (sell) me insurance for a low-low rate, or how many "free" vacation trips I have won! I got "caller ID" thinking it would solve the problem, but it hasn't, neither does "anonymous call rejection." So here is a device that allows you to "fight back" at the telemarketers. It plugs right into your phone then you plug the phone line into it. Once your 30 second install is complete, you sit back and wait, it won't be long! Once you get that annoying telemarketer, simply push the button and hang up. They will then hear a nice tone and then told "I'm sorry, this number doesn't accept calls ..." This is the best thing since Caller ID! I liked it so much, I now have one on all my phones!
