Bringing new life to an old favorite!
2008-07-15
My dad wanted a new battery for his drill for Father's Day. I looked everywhere for one and they just don't carry them in stores anymore because they are for such an old product. I found the battery on Amazon and purchased it for my dad. He was so happy. It worked perfectly and will allow him to use his favorite drill for another decade!
BEWARE - Not OEM battery
2008-06-23
The picture of this product is a Makita OEM battery, which I did not receive. As you can imagine, I was quite disappointed, paying a premium for a battery where a higher capacity non-OEM battery could be had for less money. Check with your seller if you care about this detail.

New battery makes my old Makita act like it's brand new. What more do I need to say.
NiCads - they still make these?
2003-04-24
NiCad batteries have had their day in the sun - it's sunset now. Not only do they have memory, their power output and charging speed is inferior to later battery technologies, and when they die and get tossed they are a heavy-metal hazard to the environment. We've moved beyond these things, high time to stop making them. I bought this one because I could not find a NiMH replacement for my 12-V Makita drill. I tried, believe me. AT (...) bucks a pop they're no bargain, either.
