Very 'basic' translator

Unfortunately I don't like because it don't expand, then I cannot use other cards with other language like spanish, portuguese, etc.
By any more money you can buy other new models that accept the expansion cards.

This was purchased to translate to Italian and French. However it is a dictionary for English, probably would help someone who is not from this country. It speaks clearly in English. Big help, I can do that without it!!!
Ideal for the Spelling Challenged

If you are frustrated with dictionaries because you have to know how to spell the word to find it, this is the gadget for you. My high schooler hears words a little differently, so often has trouble with spelling. The Franklin speller knows about Central Auditory Processing issues, and knows what she means when she types in something that doesn't begin to resemble conventional spelling.

Outstanding for phonetic spellers 2007-08-04
Device is currently being used by individuals with language disorders...working on improving spelling. It's perfect for those who have difficulty spelling and identifying the correct word. It will give phonetically plausible spellings (vs. word processing programs which operate based on typing errors) and allow the user to hear what the word sounds like.

I've had this dictionary since the early 90's (LM6000) and it is still in use. It has been a reliable reference tool and solid language helper for the past 13-14 years!
It is no wonder that some of the reviewers said that it is slow - this model seems unchanged since I've bought mine... I guess - Don't fix if it aint broken.
This dictionary is a MUST for any English learner any even any household.
I am giving it the highest marks for its durability, reliability and above average comprehensiveness.

terrfic easy to read and understand. I am a tutor for an adult learner program, my students benefit greatly from this tool.
It's compact and it weighs less than a dictionary, fits nicely into small spaces and the price is right, at amazon.

Actually, I sent this to a friend trying to learn english. It is a valuable tool, in that is pronounces the words and has various vocabulary exercises that compliment the device.
