This was my first HP financial calculator which I bought after owning TI calculators for years. I bought it on reputation and it worked well until it died. It didn't even outlast the batteries. I think I'll go back to TI. They seem a lot more rugged.

Financial Calculator - easy to use and priced right 2008-06-03
I've had to buy this calc for a graduate course in finance, but I'm glad I did. The class in part walked me through the usage of the function keys, but it's very durable, ergonomically well designed, and calculating power is very handy in real life situations. A kind of "Must Have" at the price.

I don't have a great math or finance background and need to get solutions to problems involving interest. It's easy to learn how to use the N I PV PMT and FV keys and they're right on top. Easy to learn, easy to use.

Easy to use Financial Calculator 2008-05-18
This calculator was required for a Masters level Financial Management course. I already had a calculator with similar finance functions but never took the time to figure out how to use them. This one is very straight-forward and requires only a few minutes to master the basic functions for time-value of money. The display is easily adaptable to various different types of problems (such as BEGIN/END for annuities due vs regular annuities, default number of payments per year, and ultra simple ammortization data). The other scientific functions are somewhat limited but it will do basic statistics and mathmatical problems and has programmable memory keys. For the price, I was happy to get it strictly for the financial features but it could easily serve as an all around calculator for the average student or bill payer. No more tables for me! It uses two CR 2032 button batteries which can be purchased almost anywhere for around $4. I keep a spare set in my backpack since I have no idea how long they will last.

Usually I don't like to read manuals to use electronics and just try to figure it out on my own. With this calculator you NEED to read the manual. It really helped me out when I did my Financial Management Exams. My lecturer recommended it and it ended up being quite helpful.
