Max is visiting Auntie Lisa and his cheeky cousin Marie in Veryfaraway, a very big town indeed: You need to take a bus to get around! Auntie Lisa is planning a mega party, but she still needs some things from town. Discover roaring parcels, elephant slides, and marketplaces while helping Max and Marie buy all the things on the shopping list. Tulips, ice cream, bananas, false noses--what else do you need for a perfect party? Detailed watercolor illustrations by Barbara Landbeck.

Great - my 3 year old loves it!! 2003-01-06
This is my daughter's first experience with a "computer game" and she absolutely loves it! Max and Marie (two adorable little doggies) go on a shopping trip with a list of items they must pick up for their aunt's big party. The list is simple and easy for my daughter to follow and remember. Max and Marie ride a bus to different parts of their town (main street, market st., the park, etc) and pick up items on the way. But each stop is full of surprises. In the clothing store, clothes dance, in the market a fish jumps in the air... This is an easy game for my daughter to follow, she has no problems playing it on her own and she just can't get enough of all the silly surprises at each stop. I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone looking for a first computer game that's fun, easy and absolutely adorable!!

Below Average Software 2002-06-22
The Max-series of software from Tivola is based on a dog-like thing named Max. Virtually every title works the same way... you are provided with a list of things to find (usually about 12) and then you make your way through the rooms or locations until you find everything. The software is decidedly European (written by Germans), and the English version is actually British. The graphics a mediocre and sluggish, even on a fast machine (ie. 2GHz with TNT graphics). Each time you change a room or location, you are prompted (slowly), "Are you sure..." As a parent, you will have to 'drive' while the child watches since no child will tolerate the finicky mouse response and slow scene changes. These titles are barely worth the [amount] sale price.

Good Quality, a little bit too little action 2001-04-06
I really enjoy the three Tivola games we bought for our children. They grow up in a bi lingual home and therefore had fun switching between the different language versions of this game. As you can switch in every place you are, it is really fun to compare how different people say things.

Max and Marie go shopping is great, but doesn't have as much of a fun factor as my favorite Tivola game, Max and the haunted castle.

It is great to get your kid into how shopping works and buying things as well as having fun with music and learing hand and eye coordination.

My little daugther enjoyed playing it when she was as young as 4 years old.

And she still likes it now, 3 years later, but of course not that long as back then :) But it is really a good game even for older kids...and the price here is pretty good as well! A steal for that price!
