Really good for a second grader! 2007-03-26
My twin daughters were given this gift (math adventure ages 6-9) for x-mas when they were barely six years old. At the time, this game was WAY too advanced for them, and it actually irritated me because I had to help them out so much with it. Zip forward a few years and they are now eight years old and in the second grade. I put this game on a few days ago and was amazed at how useful it is now. It uses shapes, fractions, money, time, addition and subtraction. I strongly recommend this program, it closely matches concepts taught in the second grade and is very good practice (and a good way to get them out of your hair for a few minutes) :)

Reader Rabbit Reading 2007-03-20
This review is specifically for Reader Rabbit Reading Preschool - 1st Grade. I had ordered Math Adventures, but the Reading one came instead; however, I kept it because my five-year-old daughter is enjoying it. The game is to collect letters to fill in a message. Before each letter can be put into the message, the player must go through several games, which will introduce the child to letter sounds and sight words. It is phonics-based. It probably can't replace reading instruction, but it is a good reinforcement.

Reader Rabbit Math Adventure Ages 4-6 2007-03-20
It has been a great help in making learning math fun for both my 4 and 5 yr olds. They can't wait to play the games and their knowledge has improved on numbers, shapes, and colors in patterns and problem solving.
I highly recommand the "Reader Rabbit" Line of products to everyone who has pre-k thru school age children.

Fun math learning 2007-01-11
We got this for our son when he was 5, and he loves it. He continues to play it nearly daily. Solid math concepts, great graphics. He loves Reader Rabbit! A great buy!

Very good for building logic skills 2006-09-17
I tutor children for a living and I have found this software to be very good for building logic skills in children. It is stimulating to them and doesn't lose them by becoming difficult too quickly. This game is much better than it's math and reading counterparts. Although they are useful, they span too many levels at one time. I would say Thinking Adventures can be used as early as 3 years and still can remain challenging until 5 or 6 years of age. You can leave a child alone with this software for 2-10 minutes at a time (I would not recommend children playing on a computer for longer than this as they need physical stimulation), whereas most educational software for this age requires constant instruction from an adult.

Reader Rabbit Math Rabbit 2008-03-02
My kindergarten son loves this game. He is 6 and ahead of most of his classmates but I wanted him to get some practice with addition, subtraction, money and telling time. He gets all that and more with plenty of repetition because he wants to build that ship and escape from the Pie Rats. He gets a new piece of the ship every time he correctly answers enough math problems...which aren't just basic arithmetic equations. He wants to play it before and after school. He loves showing me what rank he has achieved. He has gotten more from this math game than the other 2 I purchased. I would have just bought this one had I known how much he'd use it.

Reader rabbit math ages 4-6 2007-12-11
This product is great and delivery was quick as a bunny! My kids love it They are homeschooling so its great practice and a terrific teaching tool. My 5 yr old aspires to be in preschool for life, so if he thinks he's playing AND he learns it's just way easier and faster and less frustrating for all. Its Awesome!!Thanks RR! Respectfully, Mary H.

great pre-K software 2007-09-10
My daughter loves to be on the computer and enjoys all of the reader rabbit products. It is amazing to watch her figure out math while having fun.

Reader Rabbit Math Adventure 2007-04-01
I bought this product for my 9 yr old. The game is well made and has a theme behind it. Players have to solve a variety of math puzzles before achieving the objective of the game. Most kids will like this game and it should improve their math skills.

Needs Updating 2007-03-28
Having purchased the Reader Rabbit Learn To Read With Phonics, I wondered if there was a similar excellent product for early math learning. Unfortunately, Reader Rabbit Math, though it has some fun games, is a relic of an earlier era of educational software, and is difficult to install on a modern system, such as Windows XP. Reader Rabbit Math is an adaptation of an earlier game called Math Rabbit, and as a result, has some compatibility issues.

Both Reader Rabbit and Math Rabbit make an appearance in this title, as operators of two halves of a math carnival. Unlike the Learn To Read With Phonics series, there is no story arc for this math game, so it lacks the imaginative adventure that may help motivate some youngsters to keep going. This title is more like a conventional computer game, in which players play various math-based games to accumulate points. The two halves of the game are patched together somewhat awkwardly, and when a player chooses to play the Math Rabbit half, the screen area of the game actually shrinks by about 25%, perhaps reflecting older code that was written for display adapters with much lower resoltion than is available today. Also unlike Learn To Read With Phonics, the software makes players choose what level of difficulty they want to set for each of the games every time you play, rather than keeping track of a player's progress and adjusting the difficulty automatically, while keeping these configuration settings away from access by the youngsters.

When using the software with Windows XP, the program needs to run in Windows Compatibility mode.
