Amazon has a good price for true canon ink. I've been buying mine's locally (not sure why in the past I didn't think of checking on Amazon.) For reviewer's comments on the "P" version of the ink, Some (not all) canon printers use BOTH the Cyan, Magenta and Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta ink cartridges. If your printer only uses 4 ink cartridges you probably should NOT be using PC or PM. If you have a printer with 6 ink cartridges then PC and PM are two additional required ones. Whats the difference? The PC and PM are a different shade of Cyan and Magenta which allows the more expensive 6 color printers to be a bit more granular in the shades of color they can produce in your photos so they can be a little more accurate compared to the four color printers.

Your pricing is excessive. I don't know what Canon charges, but the 8-cartridge set costs more than 20% of the cost of the printer itself.

Watchout for the 'P'

After putting this ink tank in my Canon i860 the color was WAY off on all my prints. The reason? My other ink tanks were not designated "photo" ink tanks. You cannot mix and match.
It's easy to get confused because the only difference is the 'P' in the code, i.e., BCI-6PC vs BCI-6C

It's easy to check, just look at your other color ink tanks and see if they have a 'P' designated on their label. If not, stay away from 'P' ink tanks. They do very little to improve photo prints anyway (I can't by any means see the difference).

Since I bought my Canon i900D I have purchased all my ink cartridges online at Amazon. I have found two things, first the cartridges are new and work beautifully for photos (which I like to print at home), and secondly the shipping has always been FREE....yep thats right free. You need to make a purchase of $25.00, which is about three cartridges. I have found that by ordering my ink three at a time I always have that extra black (which runs out the most) and I never run out of colored ink either. It has been my pleasure purchasing online and saving a minimum of $1.95 per cartridge, (over store prices) usually more, and never paying a dime for shipping. Not to mention that gas is expensive and this morning I have ordered all my ink and my car never left the garage. Thats what I call smart shopping! Thank you Amazon.com!

Watch out for that shipping charge from Amazon!!

Of course this Canon ink is great. It would be interesting to know who in their right mind would pay $7.49 shipping for each ink cartridge. That's right, order 5 ink cartridges and pay $37.35 SHIPPING. I'm guessing Amazon doesn't really want to be bothered by selling this Canon ink.

UPDATE (09/08/2005) - Amazon is currently selling Canon ink (except red and green) and making it eligible for FREE Super Saver shipping. Stock up and save now!

Good for Canon printer

This ink works great with Canon printer. Unfortunately this is the ONLY ink that works great with a canon printer. Any other ink I tried produce terrible result. So, basically if you own Canon printer you stuck with this ink, which can be a little less expensive. I gave 4 stars because the price is a bit high.

If you use your printer to print photos, use original Canon ink. Works great and color is accurate.

I ordered Canon BCI-6C Cyan for my Canon Pixma iP 4000. Amazon sent BCI-6PM Photo Magenta instead. It looks the same and fits in the printer but does not work. I contacted Canon who informed me that the photo ink tanks cannot be used in the printer I have. I have had to replace this with the proper tank and that solved the problem. I think Amazon should refund or replace with the proper number. The rating does not apply in this case.

Canon Inks very reliable

I have used Canon genuine inks for my Canon i9900 printer with great results. I have never experienced streaks or clogging of my printer head. I cannot say the same thing for many compatibles. If you have an expensive Canon printer that you want to last, I recommend this ink!
