My kids are 8 and 11 and they prefer National Geographic kids. This one has lots of pictures and facts that would be interesting to a preschooler and first graders. Otherwise very cute magazine.

This is a great magazine and I highly recommend it. It has enough fun to hold kids' interest, and it has enough good and accurate information to be educational. This is one of those really good things where kids learn without realizing they are learning.

I subscribed to Ranger Rick for a five year old who loves to read and has a great imagination. After he reads his Ranger Rick he puts it in a special place on his book shelf to keep it safe.

the classics are always the best 2008-03-12
this magazine was sent to my house as a kid and now it comes to my kid.
He read it and really liked it (age 7). There are games inside that he turned to first, then he read the rest. It has a lot of good information, but not so much that his brain overloaded. good balance.

Ranger Rick quality endures 2008-01-02
Twenty years ago my kids 'graduated' to Ranger Rick from "Your Big Backyard" (for kids 3-6) and absolutely loved it. They were so engrossed in the stories they even named their stuffed animals after characters such as Scarlett Fox. In trying to choose a reading-related gift for my 7-year-old nephew this Christmas I was glad to remember RR and immediately bought a 2-year subscription for David. Another generation happy!

This mag. is great! My son loves getting it in the mail. He looks at the pictures and "reads" the articles. He's only two, but he thoroughly enjoys them. We've kept all the ones he's gotten. He likes to put them in his book shelf.
6-12 weeks?!

The only thing preventing a 1 star is the fact that Amazon took my call and answered my question about delivery right away. Still, 6 - 12 weeks? I figured that an order before Thanksgiving would be delivered before Christmas, but that's not happening. What's the hold up?
