Musically Brilliant!

As an older Pink Floyd fan I appreciate this DVD as much if not more than the original music by Gilmour, Waters, Mason, & Barrett. Waters masterfully blends the music in a great concert that you'll want to watch over and over again. Doyle Bramhall and Snowy White play the guitar riffs and leads even better than the originals of yesteryear. If you watch this DVD your ears will fixate on the auditory teasings and you'll never want to turn it off. I play it while at work on my computer and simply minimize the video. Superb DVD!!!!!!
Simply wonderful

Watching this DVD has to be done in an HDTV in order to fully enjoy the visuals. The music is fantastic and roger waters really puts in a performance worthy of the music he plays.
The guitar play is particularly wonderful, just top notch!
Buy the DVD it is an investment that you won't regret

Many of my friends have issues with Roger Waters, but as for me I love him and his lyrics. He puts on one hell of show. When I first heard "It all makes perfect sense", I knew I had to get this live album. It is absolutly terrrific. Keep exploring Roger and keep reaching. I'm a fan.
One to add to your collection!

I'm not a huge fan of Pink Floyd but purchased this dvd for the sole purpose of seeing Doyle Bramhall II perform. Wow! The whole dvd is awesome and the sound is great. I can't get enough of the guitar jam at the end of 'Comfortably Numb'! Bramhall and Snowy White rock!!! (This is by far one of the best bargains at $14.98....!)
What a Fantastic SHOW!!!

Columbia recording artist and Pink Floyd founder Roger Waters toured the United States for the first time in 12 years in 1999-2000 with his highly acclaimed "In The Flesh" show that presented, for the first time, a comprehensive overview of Waters's music including: early Pink Floyd material; classic compositions from his masterpieces "The Wall" and "Dark Side of the Moon;" less well-known pieces from "Animals," "Wish You Were Here," and "The Final Cut;" songs from the solo tour de force "Amused To Death" and "The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking;" and the debut of a new song, "Each Small Candle." Songs: In the Flesh, The Happiest Days of Our Lives, Another Brick in the Wall Part 2, Mother, Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert, Southampton Dock, Pigs on the Wing Part 1, Dogs, Welcome to the Machine, Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-8), Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Breathe (In The Air), Time, Money, The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking Part 11 (5:06 am? Every Stranger's Eyes), Perfect Sense (Parts I and II), The Bravery of Being Out of Range, It's a Miracle, Amused to Death, Brain Damage, Eclipse, Comfortably Numb, Each Small Candle.
Best Roger Waters DVD of the two out there

In 1999, former Pink Floyd bass player/singer/lyricist Roger Waters went on his first US tour in 12 years and didn't know how well he would be received. Surprisingly, Roger did very well on that tour as his ex-bandmates were not touring that year. At the time, Roger was going to record his first proper live album but there was a clause in Roger's deal with EMI in Pink Floyd that he couldn't re-record his OWN songs after he switched to Sony worldwide.
After Roger got the rights reversed, he set off on a second US tour based on the success of the 1999 leg and recorded and filmed the In the Flesh album/DVD, released in December, 2000 and December, 2001 respectively.
Personally, I think he performed better on the second North American leg than the 1999 leg but in retrospect, the final show in Providence should have been recorded but you can wish in one hand and pour out the other.
However, the performance is from Oregon on the DVD is good as it was that July night in 2000 I saw Roger.
Roger has a competent band of musicians like drummer Graham Broad and guitarist Andy Fairweather Low but also guitarists Snowy White (whom worked with Floyd in 1977 and 1980) and Texan Doyle Brahmall II (sounds like Stevie Ray Vaughan IMHO) and keyboardist Jon Carin whom ironically played with the post-Waters Floyd in 1987 to 1990 and 1994 and has toured with Waters again in 2006 and 2007 and in David Gilmour's solo tour in 2006.
The renditions of the numbers on In the Flesh don't sound too different than their studio versions (In the Flesh, The Happiest Days of Our Lives, Another Brick in the Wall(pt. 2), Mother, Welcome to the Machine, Wish You Were Here, Breathe, Time, Money, Brain Damage, Eclipse and Comfortably Numb) but some of the songs are slightly different than the way Waters' ex-colleagues played them (Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Set the Controls For the Heart of the Sun).
Floyd fans are pleased to know that Roger included material from Animals (Pigs on the Wing(pt. 1) and a spirited Dogs) and The Final Cut (Get Your Filthy Hands/Southampton medley) which Roger's ex-bandmates don't play live (Animals is too venomous while The Final Cut is despised by Floyd members David Gilmour and Rick Wright).
The bass player's solo efforts are represented as well, with spirited versions of Every Strangers Eyes, Perfect Sense (pts. 1 and 2), The Bravery of Being Out of Range, It's a Miracle and Amused to Death. He did The Powers That Be on the 1999 tour but dropped it in 2000.
The DVD closes with the new track Each Small Candle which is a worthy song and sounds like an outtake from The Final Cut or Animals.
On the DVD are a couple of documentaries and the picture quality is stunning!
This DVD and its off-shoot CD is highly recommended.
Outstanding

This DVD is super - probably deserves more than 5 stars. My favorite
music DVD.
Sound, video, songs +++++
This should be required viewing for production people making
a music video.
Since we can't see Pink Floyd perform, and
if you can't see or can't afford a Roger Waters concert:
check out the Australian Pink Floyd Show if they are in your area.
They perform Pink Floyd songs near-perfectly, the sound is excellent, and
the cost is much less than many concerts.
One of the Best

Roger Waters, Stanley Clarke, Paul McCartney, Bill Wyman, Bohannon, Greg Lake...to name a few, in no particular order. Style, grace, creativity, innovation, entertaining, inspiring...to name a few, in no particular order.
Good Concert, but this year's was better
2007-09-21
I like this concert: excellent music, serious musicianship, good arrangements and sound and of course, Roger Waters. However in some parts, as in the awesome 'Dogs', I miss Gilmour very much (in the legendary 1977 bootleg, Pink Floyd plays an amazing live version of this song). But of course that is thing of the past and Gilmour is not an easy treat to imitate, it is very good to see this guys solo playing Floyd backed by very good musicians, is better than nothing; also, Waters' solo songs are excellent here, I recommend this DVD to any serious rock fan.
Anyway let me tell you, I saw Waters live this year playing Dark Side of the Moon along with some songs of this In The Flesh set, and it was so much better than this DVD, in every aspect, specially sound and lighting with flying pig wandering over the city skies! I hope that the latest tour gets DVD treatment as this excellent production.
