GPS bean bag Review
2008-06-09
Part was not exactly as I had expected. It does not secure my GPS securely. I will probably have to obtain a different type of mounting to secure my GPS to the dash. The picture online seem to indicate support on two side of the unit, but was not the case.
Good to have

Garmin Bean Bag Mount for GPS V (010-10195-00)
This is not as sturdy or as easy to use as the windshield mount but it is easy to put up and down for short drives around town. This is important as with the rise of popularity of portable GPS systems they have become a favorite target of thieves. It is reported they look for not only the GPS itself but the tell-tale ring-smudge on the windshield. Then they break your window looking for the system somewhere in the inside of the car.
my second purchase!!

If you have a C340, this works very well and you don't have to leave the bag in your vehicle. You can take the whole unit with you when you leave your car. Very pleased!!
Totally dissatisfied

This product was a total waste of money for me. The pictures do not adequately portray the construction or use for this product. Don't waste your time or money on this product.
TomTom? Garmin? What's the Difference?
2007-12-12
I bought this as a mount for my new TomTom 3rd gen GPS. One issue with the TomTom setup is that the connectors are on the bottom. Therefore, you can't put the velcro strip on the bottom of the unit like with the Garmin that this was made for. However, I stuck the velcro strip on the suction cup mount that comes with the TomTom. It works great! This way, I can transfer the device between vehicles easily, and there is no hint to would be car thieves that a GPS might be hiding inside. I throw the bean bag and TomTom mount into the glove compartment and the TomTom in my pocket. No fuss. No mess. This mount seems to take corners and stopping well as long as you have it put in the right place on the dash.
Garmin Bean Bag

If the words "no installation required" make you happy, this is the mount for you. Bean bag mount has a no-skid bottom and Velcro" strip on the top, so your unit sits securely on your dash, console, or other surface. Small attached flap stores extra batteries.
Not for GPSMap 76CSx!

I went ahead and put the velcro strips on the back of my GPS unit and installed this in the car. It is just a holder now. I cannot see the screen. This is made for a triangular shaped GPS. The paper inside the box says it's for GPSII, GPSII Plus, GPS III, GPS III Pilot, GPS III Plus.
If you have one of these I am sure you will love this mount.
Garmin Bean Bag Mount for GPS
2007-05-06
I gave this product two stars instead of only one because I evidently misunderstood what I was ordering. I own a Nuvi 350 and this beanbag simply won't hold it in place. I change cars frequently and wanted a very portable mounting system to keep the GPS safe during use. I found that if I made a sudden stop, the Nuvi flew off the bag and clunked into the windshield. Save your money; do not buy this product if you want to use it with the Nuvi 350. Perhaps it's designed for use with some other Garmin GPS.
NOT FOR GPS

This item came up in my search for a different holder for my GPS. This may work with a particular GPS Garmin model but is useless with regular GPS. I was hoping for a true bean bag, not just flat surface. Very disappointing
Don't toss this one

The bean bag mount is amazingly secure on the dast, even with relatively aggressive maneuvering. It will slide forward under heavy braking with a fairly steeply sloped dashboard, but generally keeps the unit steady under much heavier G forces than you have any right to expect.
