Annoying But Fun
2008-01-14
My mother-in-law had me purchase this for my daughter for x-mas. Although it is annoying to listen to over and over... My daughter loves it and tries to immitate the dance that elmo does. It is also pretty easy for her to activate the button on his foot... so I don't have to sit with her constantly pushibng the button. This version is also much more sturdy than the smaller version that they make. My daughter had the smaller one broken within 10 minutes of opening the package... hence the purchase of this one. So far this one has held up pretty well.
Annoying, BUT.....

My son got this toy for his 1st birthday from Grandma. He loved it then, and still loves it now a year later. My husband and I find it to be very annoying and irritating, but when you see the look of joy and laughter on your child's face, how can you not put up with it?
Chicken dance ELMO a big hit with 2 year old

My 2 year old still loves this ELMO. He's loved it since he was about 1 year old. It's so cute to see him fold his arms and do the Chicken dance with Elmo.
A Must Have

This toy keeps my 18 month old son entertained for hours. Not to mention, he is adorable when he tries to do the chicken dance with Elmo. This is one of the best toys we have bought him. If your child loves Elmo, he or she must have it!
Pretty Good Toy - Bored of it After a While

My one-year old loved this toy when he first got it, but seems to be bored with it now. I have to press the foot and remind him that the toy is there - it's not something he goes looking for. For the most part it is a great toy and really cute to watch Elmo dance the chicken dance.
Do the chicken dance everybody

Elmo has certainly sold out. The fuzzy red Muppet is dressed up in a chicken suit, with only his red face and hands showing. The fuzzy suit is bright yellow with a white chest, orange feet, and a red comb on the hood. Push the button on Elmo's left foot and his high-pitched voice encourages little ones to do the Chicken Dance with him. His arms flap and his knees bounce up and down as he sings the lines, "Elmo wants to be a chicken, Elmo wants to be a duck" to the familiar, but annoying, tune. Press the button on his right foot and Elmo will cluck like a chicken and move his head. Note that these two actions are the only ones Elmo does; there is no volume control, repeatedly hitting a button will cause a "rap effect," and the body under the chicken suit is hard plastic, which hurts his huggability factor.

A sad dance for Elmo

This product is sooooooo not worth it! I believe that my daughter is the #1 Elmo fan and she laughed at it for about 5 minutes and then it bored her..................It's not even the full "chicken dance" that's on an Elmo video we own (one of the reasons I bought it)...............the material that the feet are covered with is so cheap that my daughter (at the time 9 months old) ripped it easily the first day...........Do not waste your money on this product!
Yay!

I wanted a chicken, but my Mummy wanted proof I would look after it, so I got this and fed it and bandaged it and brought it to bed and school and church and in the bath. Sometimes I dress chicken and I called him [...]. What a good name!
Good while it lasted

Since he was an infant, our son has LOVED the Chicken Dance, and when he was 5.5 months we bought him Chicken Dance Elmo. At first he thought it was odd, but then he started to like it and we knew that whenever he was upset Elmo could get him to calm down. Eventually, at 7 months he went through a phase where he no longer wanted to be changed on his changing table. Wouldn't you know, Elmo was the the one toy that could occupy him long enough for us to change his diaper.
My BIG disappointment with Elmo is that he is not very durable. We used him for entertainment purposes only and after two months he just stoppped singing. He still clucks like a chicken if you press his foot, but when you press the other foot nothing happens (no song and dance). We thought it needed more batteries but after trying that its clear that Emlo is broken. Which is too bad since we really liked this toy.
Great product for young kids!

I bought this toy for my neice on her 1st birthday. Out of all the awesome, expensive toys that she's gotten, this was her favorite! The best $15 I ever spent! It goes everywhere with her, and she's learned how to dance from watching and playing with Elmo. I loved this item so much I'm buying one for my baby (well actually it's for me)!
