NOTHING LIKE THE SHOW BUT THIS GAME ROCKS

This American Idol Game is 10 times better than the one made by Codemaster!!!! I see people talking about how, "Oh, I don't know these songs" or "These songs are old" but if you don't know them the words flash across the screen and if they are old....tough!!!
I'm an 11 year old that should have been born 20 years ago because I love those kind of songs!! I love the way that you can make that person your own! You are NOT trying to make th next American Idol!! It's a game people!! Come on!!! The clothes, hair and all around point of the game is definetly the best game I have ever played and that is truely sincere!!

Ok but not awesome

THe game is good preety much except that a micro phone doesn't come with it!! IT only has 21 songs and unless they do and expansion set the game will get boring. there are only two judges that don't critique you they give you compliments!! There are only a few dance moves and closthe I'd wait to buy it until they make an expannsion set IF they do!!

My daughter loves playing this game with her friends. However, I recently purchased one for a birthday gift and when the box was opened there was no microphone inside. I sent for a replacement and the replacement had no microphone. I am waiting for a response as to where are the microphones. It clearly states in the ordering info that there is a microphone included.
If you can get a box with a microphone you'll enjoy the game.

the new codemasters game blows this one away but this game is ok too. but these are the bad things about it
only 20 songs
not the real judges
the ending "is bad"
you can't do any of the audition stuff you start right at the final two which dissapointed me the most
no singing just dancing
when it says style with thousands of looks don't get excited because there are not too many
when it says over 20 hits don't get excited because there are onlt 21 or 22 songs in this game
I used to think this game was the greatest but now codemasters came out with one this game has hundreds of improvements to make.
I wouldn't reccomend this game to anybody (unless you collect this stuff) otherwise get the codemasters one.

It gives kids a chance to live fame.

This game is really fun! The only downside is the songs. There are only about 20 songs to choose from, and they could be better songs, but overall this game is good. You get to choose a name for your player, you get to choose if it is a boy or a girl, then you get to choose your hair style and your clothes. At the beginning you don't have many items of clothing, but as the game goes on you get to buy clothes, which earns you more star power and helps you win. In the game, you roll a die and then get to choose where to go depending on the amount of spaces you rolled. Some of the spaces you land on help you gain money or lose money, let you buy stuff to get more star power, and performances where you either sing or dance (you use the microphone your computer comes with, if you don't have one you can buy one). The actual game ends when you or your opponent gets 1000 points in your star power, then both players go to the red carpet and preform one last time, and the one with the most star power wins. You can also make music videos on the game, which is fun. Also, throughout the game you can buy dance moves, lighting, and backgrounds to make your music videos better! This game is fun and addicting, and it's worth buying. The game really has nothing to do with the actual show, but it's still fun!
Surprisingly Good 2004-12-03
My daughter (8 years-old) enjoys this game way more than I thought that she would. A lot of the songs on it aren't familiar to her, but the game play is really set up so you don't have to know the songs to win. A lot of hand-eye coordination is needed for playing this game. I'd recommend this game for anyone 8 & up who likes computer games and board games. (It is set up much like a board game)

The songs rock the clothing rocks the game rocks.
Its like the sims because you get to create your charecter but instead of walking around you get to compete and it is so much fun to make a music video with friends you really should try the game
