cracked plastic guard

I was very please with the compressor,I have had it for a few months how.First thing I look at was the box to see if there was any damage to it.After reading all the reviews about the plastic guard being crack.The box was in good shape but the plastic was still crack.Dewalt was very good about replacing it.I dont like where they place the regulator it is hard to fit your hand in there to turn it.I use a paint gun and a nailer with this air compressor and it handles both good.

The compressor I bought is about what I expected. However, I am not very comfortable with the plastic regulator. The regulator sticks out from the center of the top tank with the hose attaching directly to the outside of the regulator. I am concerned that too much side force will break off the regulator. I would expect a very robust regulator for this overall design. Shipping time was very good. I wasn't in a hurry so I had it sent by ground, and it arrived about when I expected. The first unit I received had a cracked plastic guard that I am sure resulted from either packing or rough handling, but my claim was taken care of very expeditiously! Another unit was shipped immediately and I simply had to print out a UPS shipper and let UPS do the rest. This was a very good buy overall.
Very happy w/ this compressor 2007-02-06
I bought this from Amazon to replace a dead Porter Cable 6 gallon pancake compressor. Arrived quickly and without damage. It cycles frequently (only 4 gallonns)with a framing nailer but is fast and quiet. Much, much quieter than the PC. Must be because it is oiled vs. the oiless PC? Anyway, I am very pleased so far mainly due to the low noise level.

I paid $220 including shipping for this compressor. I don't believe you could by anything better for the price I paid. Like some of the other customers that bought this product the plastic guard over the motor was also damaged in shipment. A call to Dewalt & I had a new replacement guard within a few days. Great service! I'm very satisified with my purchase.

This portable compressor meets all of my expectations,it has plenty of air to run all my nail guns ,including my framer.It is fairly quite,and not too heavy to lug around.perfect for those jobs away from the shop!!

Not enough air flow for most of my needs. Only buy for very light work. The air outlet is too close to the handle, had to change it around.

Doesn't match up to a Makita MAC2400 2008-01-26
I've had this DeWalt compressor for three years and have cussed it the last two years. It performs horribly when it's cold, takes a long time to fill with air and is fairly loud. I really didn't realize how much I hated it until I finally had enough and purchased a Makita MAC2400. It is twice the compressor, performs great when it's cold and is half as loud as the DeWalt. The Makita is a little heavier, but for only $20 more you get a much better compressor.

This compressor works well and does the things I want it to do. It is easy to move around to good locations. I am not a contractor, so I don't know how it would perform under more extreme use.
