The desk is superb...But the manufacturer sent the box missing two pieces...with a TWO MONTH wait for replacement parts. UNACCEPTABLE service.

We use this in the kitchen as a different seating option for our 16-month-old and he loves the freedom in being able to sit down whenever he wants and have a snack.

I had researched a lot of different desk products by Alex and decided on this one, primarily because of the other reviews I had read which rated it very highly. I'm glad that I did.
My 20 month old got this for Christmas and has used it almost every day since. It is sturdy, attractive and versatile! It is also very easy to assemble.
The reasons I did not give this item 5 stars are:
1. The desk is made from pressboard/particle board - no suprise, but a couple of the main pieces arrived with corners that were damaged. It didn't effect its fuctionality, however, I would have prefered, of course, if it wasn't damaged in any way.
2. The canvas bag that hangs on the back of the chair is very thin and doesn't hold much. Also, the way that it is sewn makes it difficult to get into because of the tension.
3. I sort of wish that the under-chair shelf had a back on it so that the items placed on it couldn't get pushed out the back and just end up on the floor.
Other than the above mentioned issues, we really love this desk and would recommend its purchase to any one who has a toddler!

I bought this for my two year grandson and he just loves it. He has his lunch and snack on it. It is very well constructed and was worth the money. It will last for many years.

I gave this to my two year old for Christmas and she loves it. In fact my three year old son wanted one, too! The desk is a little big for my daughter, but usable and has room to grow. I think she will get a couple years of use at least. The desk was easy to put together and came with all pieces and the tool to use, as well (allen wrench). It took about 30 mins to assemble (at 11:00 on Christmas eve). The desk is the perfect size for a child's bedroom or possibly the corner of a kitchen.

Do not order this item from this vendor. I ordered it a few weeks ago and it never shipped. They kept promising to ship the item but never did. My order was cancelled. If you want this item for Christmas, you should order it from someplace else.
Great desk! 2006-11-20
A few years ago I was searching for a long time for just the right desk for our 3 year old. I found this one on Amazon and decided to take a chance. Well, he is almost six now and uses it every day! It is very sturdy, easy to clean and has lasted through some major growth. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in this age range.

This was an outstanding buy! My son, who just turned two years old, has managed to turn all of his toys into pieces of jungle gym equipment. He climbs, stands on, jumps off and carries EVERYTHING! This desk has allowed me to see a calmer side of my son. It is extremely sturdy and well built, unlike a lot of children's desks I had been looking at. He hasn't figured out a way to harm himself with this desk. I found the desk very easy to put together, and a nice feature was that it can be made for either a left or right handed child. I love the bright colors and the hanging bag and shelf under the chair. The cup for crayons is a nice thought, but my son could take or leave it. My son loves his desk, and has recently insisted on eating his lunch on it instead of his high chair. I would definitely buy again!

VERY sturdy....marvelously so!! Great for playing school, dravving, painting...all sorts of things!! My (...)neice and nephevv, (...) all enjoy and it's in as good condition today as it vvas a year ago vvhen he got it!! Ours didn't come vvith the pencil cup holder, but that's the only problem I came across,and I just simply found another cup to put in instead. Actually, my son loves to put his drink cup in there vvhile he uses the desk so it's out of his vvay!
