Editorial Review
With this 2-1/2-inch, 16-gauge finish nailer, Porter-Cable continues to make good on their reputation as one of the top pneumatic toolmakers. The gun's straight magazine is well thought out, made from aluminum, and top loading. This is a sturdy, compact nailer that shoots a conveniently wide range of 16-gauge nails, from 3/4 to 2-1/2 inches. The nailer has a good balance and a nice, thin grip made of porous rubber. (You don't have to have the hands of a giant to comfortably operate this gun.) The gun has a nicely designed depth-of-drive adjustment. There's also a muffled exhaust port, so it's quieter than a lot of other nailers--plus the exhaust port is adjustable, so you can direct the discharge where you want it. The gun's also lighter than we'd expected, always a good thing in a tool a lot of us use all day long. --Jon Groebner

Quality makes projects easy 2007-11-06
My wife made me purchase this air nailer as an early Christmas gift. We have been remodeling our upstairs with new doors, windows, and trim. Up to this point I had been doing everything with a hammer and punch to set the finish nails, which is slow. This tool is a breeze to use, lightweight, no jams so far, and has led to the completion of our project much faster than I could have ever done it with hand tools. Well worth the money.

Excellent Gun 2007-07-30
I have owned this gun for almost a year now and use it exclusively for installing interior doors with 2 1/2" nails. More than 5,000 nails later it still does a great job. The nails hang down thru the magazine so you can see them moving as you fire. Very easy to see when you are almost out of nails. It also has a depth stop so you can control the depth of the counter sink of the nails. Handy of you are doing thin stock. The exhaust port on the top rotates so you can control the direction and keep it from blowing in your face.

FN250B Porter Cable Finish Nailer 2007-02-21
I needed a finish nailer to nail down the first and last boards of a hardwood flooring project. I went to home depot and lowes and the 16 gauge nailers were $159 and up. I spoke to a friend for advice. He had the porter cable FN250B and is very satisfied with it. So, my mind was made up to purchase that model. Just for kicks I went to Amazon, and found that it was $20 cheaper with free postage. I purchased it through Amazon. I received it in the mail about 5 days later. I used it for my flooring project and am not using it for the moldings. I am very satisfied with the product and price.

GREAT TOOL! QUALITY AND PEFORMANCE AND DURABILITY 2007-02-20
I purchased this nailer as part of the pancake compressor/3 nailer set (which I highly recommend) almost a year ago and it has been everything I ask from a tool. It has performed flawlessly. The construction is good solid metal and feels like its made to last. Well engineered and I can't think of 1 single change I would prefer. A great tool! If you are still nailing manually...why? Buy it, you will not regret this purchase.

Porter Cable Finish nailer. 2007-01-18
Easy to use. Does the job right without a problem. Couldn't ask for more.

Nice while it lasted - which wasn't long 2008-06-11
This was the first nailer I've ever used and I was thrilled with it until it just stopped shooting nails after a couple of small projects. I didn't even get through the tiny starter box of nails that came with the nailer before it died! I took the nailer to a guy who repairs tools and he said that it would cost more to repair than to buy new. He also expressed a very negative opinion about Porter Cable's dramatic decline in quality since they were bought out by DeWalt. From my experience with this product and the advice from a reliable professional, I won't be replacing this nailer with another Porter Cable.

Handy 2008-05-16
Nice tool to have around. Used it for installing moldings and replacing all the windows in my house. Never a problem with it.

Can no longer get parts 2008-03-12
Before Porter Cable sold their name this was a great pneumatic company with excellant service. Now its just junk. If it breaks don't bother trying to fix it just trash it and buy the cheaps thing you can find and junk it when it finally breaks. The FN250A by the orginal company Porter Cable was a fairly good nailer.

Porter-Cable FN 2508 finish nailer 2007-11-17
My husband had one of these and loved it. He wanted a 2nd and the price was great.

Does what the manufacturer says it will 2007-11-17
Very good product which works as advertised. A coworker used it and said he preferred it to the one he owns from another manufacturer. I do wish that an interlock would prevent dry firing when the magazine empties.
