Somehow, on the way from China to Amazon to Me, eight of the 25 became cracked on the frontal part. Unusable! Really cheap plastic. I would like to mail CD's to friends, but am afraid they would shatter in the mail. Also there are no means of labeling them unless you use "Post-it-Notes" or a Magic Marker.

Amazon doesn't have these in stock 2003-11-18
I ordered these 2 months ago and Amazon still does not have any in stock. It says that they are available in 24 hours but they have told me several times that they can't get any.

Good, but there's better 2003-08-30
These Jewel Cases are good, and the price is deffinetly right on Amazon, but I prefer CD Sleeves instead of Jewel Cases. CD Sleeves are much smaller than Jewel Cases, and are much better when sending them through the mail.

It's also good if your going on vacation, because you can find Double sided Jewel Cases which hold 2 CD's, then of course, there are the ones that hold 1 CD. I find CD Sleeves a much better way of transportng CD's than Jewel Cases.

Good Enough 2003-08-26
I just received mine. Here are some observations:

1. The cases come in 5 lovely translucent colors.
2. The CD is held in place by 3 cusps. You can release the CD with minimal stress on it by depressing the central hub.
3. There is some clearance between the base of the case and the CD surface.
4. The plastic of the cases seems to be brittle.

All these mean that the cases will protect the CDs from scratches but they will not last forever. This may be a problem if the cases were intended for active use. Otherwise, they are good enough.

Great price, but I'm tired of the size and shape.
I prefer small, round, thin.

My Favorites! 2006-06-08
I love these cases. The colors are nice, the see-through feature is helpful, they keep my DVDs and CDs clean and are great for mailing, also. Not one of mine has ever broken, but you DO need to open them correctly so as not to destroy them (I can't imagine any other way one would break unless you stepped on it, bent one severely, or beat one to death.) They are made of the same type of plastic in which commercial CDs are packaged. I always prefer to buy this exact type and brand of case.

Maybe it's only me... 2005-06-27
But I love these cases. I have had no problems with them yet. They snap closed, stay closed and are fairly sturdy. Granted, I do not go throwing them around or anything. But for organizing things and keeping the dust off, these cases do a good enough job for me.

Work fine 2004-11-26
I've used these (and similar) cases for years. No problems, even with the cats occasionally knocking them around and walking on them.
1) I've never had one crack.
2) They hold the disc securely, but not with so much force that you risk damaging the disc when removing it.
3) As long as you open them properly - from the front (clear) side by pulling near the corner(s) while holding the back (colored) side - they open fine.

Sure they're cute BUT...... 2004-09-14
Sure, these colorful jewel cases are pretty to look at but I give their functionality an F. As soon as I opened one of these cases to put a CD in it, the case broke. It happened to 3 cases out of the 12 I have used already. I wasn't using excessive force, in fact most people call me gentle. Buy at your own risk and HANDLE WITH CARE!!
