Spyro the Dragon has bright graphics in six well-developed worlds, each with several subworlds, including bogs, deserts, and ice worlds. Unlike some action games, in Spyro the Dragon the enemies are more fun than frightening. In the Peace Keepers World, for example, Spyro must burn down the monster soldiers' tent, sending one of the minions running out, quaking with fear or, if you're lucky, dropping his drawers and shooting a moon. Spyro: Ripto's Rage improves on the original with superior controls, more colorful and faster graphics, a tighter story, achievable goals, and plenty of gameplay variety. Spyro: Year of the Dragon invites you to jump down the rabbit hole to recover all the eggs stolen from Dragon World by the evil sorceress and her henchmen. It has the cartoonish look, goofy sounds, and scavenger-hunt gameplay of the other two titles. New to the series is the ability to play as Sheila, the kangaroo; Sergeant Byrd, the flying penguin; Bentley, the yeti; and Agent 9, the space monkey.

I started with this game!

I'm 12 and this is what got me started in gaming. I got Spyro the Dragon in 1999 or 2000. Then Christmas of 2000 I got Spyro Ripto's Rage, and got the third one for Playstation a bit later. But anyway, if it wasn't for that first Spyro game, I wouldn't be as much as I am into gaming. It's a great game for a 6 year old to start with, because it's easy to understand and has easy controls. Now I collect all of the games out now for Nintendo DS and Playstation 2, though, they will NEVER be as good as the first three.
SPYRO!

I miss these old Playstation 1 games, and I agree with everyone else, they are a lot better than the newer one "A New Beginning." <-- All I can say is yuck to that one!
BUY THE PLAYSTATION 1 VERSIONS, AND YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID! :)
Spyro lives on.....

Spyro is a new favorite of my 5 year old that is a game genious! Even tho we don't have any PS1 memory cards he plays it over and over and over again. This collector's set has 3 different games included in it. Three separate discs. If he gets tired of 1 disc he puts in a different version of Spyro. Great graphics and story and ease of use makes it fun for him since he can't read yet. Also the game is clean enough for him to be able to play.
Wonderful game, must-have!

I have always loved Spyro and these fabulous classics are what I grew up with. All three games are unique and completely different so no matter what your mood this pack will contain the perfect game for you.
In Spyro The Dragon, Spyro is an adorable dragon trying to free his Elders from a spell placed upon them by Gnasty Gnorc. The graphics are very good for PS1 and the worlds are beautiful. There are no true bosses and Spyro has no confusing abilities so its a good game for younger children. There is hardly any frustrating moments.
In Spyro: Ripto's Rage, Spyro is back with new abilities that he can learn. The graphics are better and new characters are introduced, although you can't play as them yet. The plot is great, and each world is carefully and painstakingly plotted out to perfection. Every world is beautiful and stunning, making this Spyro a challenge and my personal favorite game.
Finally, Spyro: Year of the Dragon, also included, is a great game for true Spyro lovers. Now Spyro starts out with all the abilities learned in Ripto's Rage, and you get to play as all new characters Bentley, Sheila, Agent 9, Sgt Bird and Sparx in his (frustrating) Sparx Worlds. The enemies are comical and the worlds are bright and cheery as Spyro rushes to save the Dragon Eggs stolen from his world. It has the best graphics of the three.
In short, this package is a wonderful addition to anyone's collection and is perfect for all ages. If you were thinking of getting it, DO. You will thank yourself later.
