I LOVE my dual deck VCR
2008-05-10
I LOVE my dual deck VCR!! i have had my dual deck vcr for over 20 yrs. everything works great on it i can copy rented movies and if i copy a taped tv movie, it removes all the commercials with no problems.
the only thing i wont be able to do is when analog tv switches to digital in feb 2009, is use it to record channels ie; 8.2 8.3 8.4 etc it will only recognize the normal analog channels ie; 3 5 8 10 12 etc.
Also you have to have the converter box set to the same channel as the vcr while taping. No more watching one channel while taping another. ( i am still trying to contact the converter box companys to find a way around this )
NEVER. NEVER, EVER buy GO Video.

Go Video is perhaps the most dishonest company with which I have ever dealt. Their products aren't that great and once they get you money, they dont't want to hear from you any more. I had a dual deck vcr that I bought from this company. It worked for a while but eventually "blew up". Tried to get GO video on the phone - forget about it! It would be easier to call the Pope than to actually get anybody on the phone from GO video. There is ZERO real tech support at GO video.
NO PROBLEMS

Unless you have a faulty wire or didn't hook it up properly, you should have no problems. I have had mine for a very long time now (at least a year, maybe more than two) and have copied hundreds of tapes. I'm the one people go to when they missed their favorite sitcom, etc. Anyway, not only does it work beautifully, but I was also impressed by the many extra features that worked automatically -- many of which I was not expecting. It has been a pleasure. I was only saddened to come back here to order a second one and find they are no longer available.
THESE ARE NOTORIOUS FOR BOUNCING PICTURE!!

I've bought two of these and experienced the same problems. Tapes in LP and EP mode that were not recorded in these VCRs bounce. You may not notice it right away, but guarantee you as soon as you walk away it will, and you won't notice it until you watch the copy you made way later. Also, it doesn't produce the best picture possible. When I used my JVC VCR for playback, none of the tapes that bounced in the Go Video bounced, and the recorded tape actually had better quality than if dubbed using Deck 1 of the VCR! Unbelievable. I wish I would've realized this before I spent countless hours making copies.
Don't waste your money

I bought this dual deck vcr on March 24, 2004. It worked for three weeks. The fist deck won't work, it doesn't keep up with the counter and it plays everything in SP. If you put in a tape that is SLP it will look like a chipmunks reunion. Oh, and if you think that it will work with tapes recorded in SP....THINK AGAIN....picture will go out every 3.5 minutes. Horrible. Couldn't get a replacement or my money back. Amazon said that I would have to go through Go Video...Go Video NEVER recontacted me. BEWARE!
Best VCR

Space-saving design and unique GoVideo Dual-Deck features make the DDV3110 more convenient and twice as useful as any other VCR. Features like One-Touch Commercial-Free Copying let you easily record a show on one deck and automatically copy to the other deck without commercials. Commercial Advance /Movie Advance allow you to skip ads and movie trailers on recorded programs at the touch of a button. You'll also get twice the record and playback time by using Sequence Mode to switch from deck one to deck two automatically. Or you can play indefinitely, using Loop Mode. Complete Program Record adjusts recording speed to fit the length of tape being used and ensures you won't miss the end of any recorded show. Other features include Child Lock to disable the front panel buttons, Auto Setup which automatically sets the clock and searches for channels when you hook up to your TV, and Timer Record which lets you set up to 16 timed events up to one year in advance - that's twice as many as most VCRs!
The only VCR you will ever need..

VCR's may not be the hottest of items now with the DVD age alive and strong, but I have always found a need for a VCR and after going through a half-dozen or so in the last 10 years I finaly found one that I am very happy with. The GoVideo DDV3110 Dual Deck is a graet addition to my electronics family.
I can understand why some aren't happy with it, yes it has trouble copying some of the newer VCR tapes that have the copy protection on it, but so do most if not all VCR's and DVD players you hook to any other device. That is the point of copy write protection. There are machines that do that but you can't expect this one to as well. It is great though in taht it's HI Fi, has a lot of great options like slow speed shuddling, auto tracking, commercial skip, indexing so you can easily find where you started recording a program, one touch recording, you can have two tapes in at once so you never have to worry about a tape running out and so much more. This is a great machine and one of the best purchases I have ever made. I own a lot of VCR tapes full of programs and various things I have recorded over the years. Now with a machine like this I can put a lot of the tapes together and save space as well as hook up all my other devices into it through the various A/Vholes. It's really a fine piece of equipment. I haven't had a problem or complaint with it yet.
Sure it would be great if it did record stuff you rent from a video store but very few vcrs do. Why would this one be any differnet? Just because it has a one touch recording option from one tape to another doesn't mean it should do something that is illegal. Bottom line is, this is the perfect vcr to replace all the vcrs in the house once and for all. You only need this one as it will fill all the needs and in the best quality a VCR has to offer. If you are looking for a VCR to copy those tapes you rent from the video store then yes perhaps you should avoid this but if you want it for anything else that a VCR can offer in copying and watching needs this is the only one to ever get. You will be quite happy with all the options it has to offer and the ease of use.
I must be charmed

I have had this GoVideo DDV3110 VCR for close to a year now, and, frankly, I'm surprised at the number of negative reviews here. So far I have had no complaints. This unit has performed flawlessly and is very easy to use for my purposes.

Not usable

This machine has only one tuner, wouldn't copy home videos (and company admitted knowing there was a flaw in the copyright protection preventing rental tapes from being copied that also prevented copying from certain camcorder manufacturers), was a bear to work with in trying to find a replacement.
