2004-01-19Amazon Buyers, Beware--you are not buying this paper through Amazon, but through Adorama Camera, so you will be charged far more in shipping than the couple bucks you saved by buying it here instead of a brick and mortor store.
stupid to mention it? well, I assume there are other dorks out there, who, like me, will gleefully throw this in their shopping cart, expecting that the super saver shipping discount will make it their bargain of the week. so...be warned.
Amazon's site design makes it obvious when you're buying through Eddie Bauer or Gap or such big vendors--but when it's a small distributer, it's merely listed in text. when there's so much other text on the page, I find it easy to ignore.
Am I the only one this has happened to? hopefully someone out there will find this helpful and I won't look like a complete idiot not only for making a mistake when ordering, but then telling the world about my mistake...
With a Canon printer, this is an absolute necessity
2003-12-23
It's been said before, but it's worth repeating. With a Canon printer, nothing else comes close to the quality of this paper. I once bought every brand I could find and did a comparison, here are my results with a Canon i850 photo printer.
1st. Canon Photo Paper Pro, hands down, no question
2nd. Epson, much better than the rest
3rd. Burlington (huh? found this at my local Target), pretty grainy
Tied 4th: Kodak "Ultima" and HP, both very grainy
So, if you're using a Canon printer, Epson will do in a pinch but still doesn't compare to this paper.

this is the best paper i've used to date , it looks better than the real thing when using 850i couldn't imagine it with a 950 printer. The only issus is the fist couple pics tend to display banding...machine warmup mabye , but overall excellent picsproduced with this paper
Photo lab quality

Included with the purchase of the Canon i950 is a sample pack of the Photo Pro for borderless pictures. Skeptical with the comments regarding the final results being comparable to those printed in photolab, I was quite pleased when I actually saw the images that were printed. Using the Canon s50 digital camera (5MP) and the i950, the results were quite professional looking. I even printed pictures taken with a Kodak DC240 (1MP), which also printed well. In addition, the software included with the i950 allowed me to print pictures with a white border, giving it a true photo lab result.
There are a few downsides to this product. Unlike most photo papers, paper is that both sides are blank. Canon did not stamp their logo on the back, so it can be difficult to tell right away which side is the print side. The pictures and Canon ink should last about 25 years, provided you keep the pictures under glass or in an album, out of direct sunlight and high humidity. Overall, the Canon Photo Pro is a great photo paper for everyday pictures, especially those suitable for framing or special albums/scrapbooks.
Exceptional quality but better VFM is available

This is the best paper when printing photos from most Canon Photo printers. I have an S820 and print quality on this paper rivals lab prints and film - Fabulous colors, detail, sharpness, etc. (when using a 3+MP camera). However it is not cost effective (40c/sheet).
For 4x6 prints, Canon's Photo Paper Plus Glossy is indistinguishable from Photo Pro and considerably cheaper (20c/sheet). The only difference, Photo pro is "supposed" to last 25yrs without fading (which given the immortality of digital pics shouldnt be an issue).
Beautiful pictures!!

This paper makes for gorgeous pictures when using it with my Cannon photo printer. The only complaint I have is that I don't like how the pictures feel - kind of slick and like they're always wet.
Great Paper

Digital photos printed on this paper on my Canon i850 printer are equally as good a professional photo lab. I tried this size pkg first, then found the 75 sheet package to be a little better value.
excellent printing paper!

i had an olympus 7mp camera and a canon ip5000 printer. i tried the samples of these paper that came with the printer and i love them! they are nice and thick and the prints came out great! just like those at the professional lab, just more glossy. and the feel of the paper doesn't feel cheap.
since i thought they were a little expensive, i went and bought some kodak paper, and have bought a new camera after returning the olympus. so i have a canon powershot g6 7.1mp now and those kodak paper disappoint me so much! to the point where i'm thinking something's wrong with the pictures i took with the camera. the quality is just not as good as the ones printed on the canon pro paper.
so i still have a bunch of the kodak paper left (even though i print a lot of photos of my daughter), i just order 2 of this same canon photo paper pro 4x6 in the 75 packs from buy.com and got free shipping. i figure that was better than buying in packs of 20. i can't wait to print on this paper again and looking forward to seeing the differences very very much!
after tax, each print would come out to about 30 cents / print. not bad when you don't have to buy film like another review said.
overall, this IS the best photo paper out there! i'm not going back to kodak!
Fabulous Prints

I just bought a Canon s400 4.0 megapixel camera and the Canon i560 printer. I am amazed beyond my wildest expectations on the quality of the camera and the amazing quality of the prints that have come off this very moderately priced printer.
I used the Canon photo paper plus glossy and am pleased to report my photos printed better than Ofoto or any other developer I have used. Gorgeous true colors.
I had some left over cheaper paper and printed a few photos and the difference in quality was unbelievable. Definitely use this paper if you want the best quality.
Best Photo Paper You Can Buy
2004-02-10
After buying my photo printer this year, I bought 4 different packages of photo paper. I used one sheet of each to print the same picture in order to compare the quaility. I was amazed at how clear and sharp the picture was that I printed on the Canon paper. It looked just like the pictures that I used to have developed at professional photo studios. None of the other three even came close in comparison to Canon. They looked like they had speckles on the picture. Needless to say, I will be purchasing the Canon from now on. But I do agree with the other comment pertaining to the shipping costs of the paper bought on this site. You end up paying the same price as you would buying it at your local electronics store. Unless you bought in bulk off this site then it may be worth it??
