CH products RULE
2008-04-05
U just cant get any smother controls than A CH product!. I just wish the complete hotas setup was a bit cheaper. Cougar can't beat it. X52 Can't beat it, for smooth operation, and reliability. I still have my serial CH stuff and it still works. To bad the serial port has went the way of the Dodo.(Or not)
Smooth and Precise

Best stick I've ever owned for the price. Very smooth. Has increased my gunnery accuracy 100%. Highly recommend.
Totally worth the price.

I was looking at the cougar flightstick, but after several negative reviews I decided to look elsewhere. This stick performs perfectly. Ive had no issues and the control is great.
Big

This thing is great! It's only drawback for me is it's size. The handle is much larger than I'm used to. It works great though. It's smooth, accurate and ALOT of buttons!
Very nice well made stick

I have had this stick for a month now, and I love it. It was recommended by a friend that has had his for about 4 years now. It is very well made and it feels good, however, you must have big hands because this is a big stick. The trim wheels make a huge differance playing Lockon. Since this doesn't haven't a rudder, I use 2 buttons which works pretty well. The throttle wheel sucks cause it doen't respond right away (it's usable though)
Non plus ultra

In more than twenty years of flight simming I've been happy with only two joysticks. One was the indestructable WICO bat-handle from the 1980's. This is the other one. I've used these exclusively for more than ten years with no problems. They are extremely steady, well-balanced, and tough as nails. They aren't temperamental and they don't break. Well worth the money.
Excellent stick
2008-07-04
I've owned this stick for a few years now, and its been nothing but fantastic. The mechanics and buttons are extremely reliable and provide good tactile feedback. The movement is consistent, and over the years the stick hasn't lost a bit of its precise feel and reliability. The stick feels quite sturdy when used, though it can sometime move a little around the desk if the rubber feet aren't clean.
The movement of the stick takes a little getting used to, as it has a tendency to 'stick' when crossing the X or Y axis. I believe this is due to the way its constructed, and once you get used to it its hardly noticable. In fact, it makes it easier to make movements of the stick directly along the X or Y axis without having to worry about drifting to either side.
The software is excellent and provides a wealth of customizability. A full scripting language is provided as well as simple keyboard and mouse emulation (with enough buttons to make it worth while).
There are replacement parts (though I've never needed any) available from the manufacturer on their webpage which provides a nice feeling of security should anything eventually go wrong.
On the down side, the stick may be a little large for some hands (I sometimes have difficulty reaching the secondary fire button with my thumb without shifting my hand on the stick) and it lacks any kind of rudder control (which means you'll probably have to purchase some extra peripheral to provide rudder, I use the CH pedals which I would highly recommend as well).
This stick is hands-down the best joystick I've ever owned.
Program Specialist

Programming the game controller, the Y-Axis wasn't responding as it pointed out in the huge Programing Manual. Sent it back for refund.
Great Product with Caution!

This is a great flight stick. However, if you are accustomed to a twist rudder on your stick, this is not the stick for you. You must use other keys to rudder or by the rudder pedals. The stick is high quality in any event.
CH Products Fighterstick USB

I bought this to compare with my Thrustmaster Cougar. I use it with the USB Pro Pedals and USB Pro Throttle as a HOTAS.It is a very accurate low noise joystick. I have used it with all sorts of flight simulations. Easy to program and once you understand how to make it appear as one virtual flight controller it works like a charm with Longbow II and other older flight sims. I just wish the software would allow me to swap in my MSFF2 joystick for those older sims where forcefeedback makes a big difference such as RedBaron 3D. Getting back to the subject, the CH Products Fighterstick USB is high quality and you cannot go wrong with buying one.
