I would have given it 3 star if it's not misleading in product description. And I did not expect it come with a good workmanship at the price.

I have recently purchased several items, online, that needed assembly. This headboard is by far the poorest quality and workmanship i have come across. It took forever to arrive, the smell of glue is nauseating, the finish shows poor workmanship, and the screws don't line up with the holes. The cheap price should have been the give away. It's true, you get what you pay for!! I now have to keep it, the shipping was almost as much as the headboard and i've already given my old one away. Don't make the same mistake i did.

I read all the other reviews before I got the headboard...so when it came it was exactly what I expected! It is very thin, but perfect for me b/c I don't want to have to deal with anything I can't move on my own (I am a petite young lady)! The smell that a few people mentioned I kind of get what they were saying but its wood and its probably been in the packaging for days or months....I let mine sit out for three days and it was fine after that (but thats b/c i was in no rush to put it on)!
I totally recommend this headboard to anyone looking for a simple, elegant, easy to put on and cheap ($) headboard!

It's a great headboard, but did not come with the screws to attach it to a metal bed frame. The instructions say to use the screws that came with your bed frame, but I have had the bed frame for 10 years, and I certainly don't remember any screws coming with it, nor would I know where they are if it had! Otherwise, the headbord looks great, I don't think it is too thin, or smells bad.

Sure it's fake wood veneer and it's a bit thin, but you can't beat it for the price (which, by the way, was marked down when I purchased). Stack up a few pillows against it and it's perfect for a rustic guest room or for keeping a frilly bed from going over the top.

Looks good in a picture, but if you want quality, I suppose you'll pay higher prices. It DOES smell strange. I'm waiting for the smell to disperse. I was disappointed by how thin it actually was. I kept coming back to the picture to see if it actually looked that thin here.

Beautiful Headboard 2003-11-05
I purchased this headboard for our guest bedroom and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The finish is beautiful and it looks wonderful in the bedroom. It's much thinner than more expensive wooden headboards as are the legs so I wouldn't purchase for a bed that's going to have alot of activity in it (kids bouncing, etc.) and it had a funny odor for a few days, but now it's gone. A great bargain at $59.00!
