EXCELLENT Photo Printing package

This package contains both postcard sized cards AND a special process of ink which does NOT dry out with age, and is guaranteed not to fade for 100 years!!

It makes great prints on post cards, and the quality is the best I've ever seen in a home printer.

Canon Paper

On the package it says 3 X 5 postcard size paper. We thought it was describing the size of the paper which we wanted for prints. However, it was 3 X 5 postcard stock which was a little deceiving. WE will use it but it is not what we wanted.

In and out 4 times = photo

I got the Canon CP400 printer a while back so I could make the occasional print to hand out (or put silly captions on "bad" Christmas party photos).

I don't know how the printer manages to keep the image aligned as the paper goes in and out 4 times (yellow, magenta, blue, and the clear coat) but when it drops it out, I have a pretty nice print, complete with address lines and a stamp outline on back (plus Canon logo of course) - suitable for mailing as a postcard. About 1/2" of each end gets removed after printing as it is used for traction of the rubber roller in the printer.

I frequently print 3 shots vertically on a 4 x 6 card as sort of a mini proof sheet. I've also used the 4 x 8 size to print 2 side by side.

Fun stuff.

The copier is easy to install and takes up very little space. Using the KP-36IP paper and ink yields excellent picture quality.Changing the paper and the ink is quick and convenient.I've printed many photos and have been very satisfied with the quality. And it isn't all that expensive for the combo.

Nicely packaged product

We borrowed a Cannon printer and digital scanner for a little fund-raising project. I was a little sceptical of the paper and ink packaged together, but it works. Easy to install. The price made it around $.36 cents per photo which wasn't bad for our needs. The quality was as good as you get taking them to Walmart.

Postcards from the Edge

You're on the trip of a lifetime and you promised to send postcards to your friends and relatives. Why not send scenic cards with you in them? Ask a traveling companion to snap a few photos of you. Hook up your digital camera to a portable canon printer and run off a few perfect postcards using the KP-36IP pack. Write "Wish you were here" on the left side and paste on a few stamps. Voila, personalized postcards from anywhere in the world.

Better yet, take a photo of someone you are traveling with and give them a postcard to send home. Talk about a great conversation starter!

Paper is NOT blank on back side

The description for this paper states "...blank on the back side, just like photos from your local print shop". THIS IS NOT TRUE. The back side is just like a post card with space for an address, etc. Canon apparantly does not make 4"x6" paper for the Selphy dye-sub printers with a blank back side. IMO, the postcard look is kind of tacky when giving prints to other people. Amazon needs to update their description to reflect this, and to include the other printers that can use this paper.

The quality of prints produced by the Selphy printers on this paper is very good and comparable with competitive products from Epson and HP.
