Great looking photos time and again
2005-12-05
I bought this printer over a year ago and have been printing photos and cards constantly. I use the 4x6 inch borderless photo paper with the tab the most and also print multiple 2x3s and 3x4s on the 4x6 paper. The quality of the prints has been just great. I print photos every weekend. This printer never disappoints me.
UPDATE: April 1, 2008. No this is not an April Fool's joke. I thought I would add that here it is years later and I'm still very happy with this printer. I'm creating my daughter's wedding invitations and still printing glorious photos for my scrapbooks. This model may not be available new much longer but if this is how HP makes printers, they have my money promised for a replacement if this one ever dies.
Excellent pictures

I bought mine from [...] for 70 bucks. The print quality, IMO, is great. Throw in some high quality photo paper and you've got yourself a digital picture photo lab. The 4x6 photo paper tray is great.
Downfalls: It's slow. Pretty slow. But that is to be expected from a photo printer of it's age. Also, when you put your memory stick/card in the printer, it is very slow to read. The next generation of the printer has a small screen to view the contents of the media or camera. This version just has the lcd with the title of the file. Your best bet is to just work with the computer.
I'm glad I bought this printer.

HP Photosmart 7350

I bought the 7350 less than 2 years ago and paid almost $200.00 for it. It sounds like a thrashing machine, clunks and jerks, and now it only prints occasionally. I'm taking it to the Goodwill store today; maybe someone else can get it to perform since I sure can't. I'm tired of trying.

I paid over $150 for mine > a year ago. No regrets!
Beware: Limited Windows Vista support!
2008-02-17
This is a good printer if you're still running Windows XP or Mac OS 10.4 or lower, but AVOID it if you're using Windows Vista! There are no native Windows Vista drivers for this printer, and the generic Windows Vista drivers for the HP Deskjet series do not include support the memory card reader or ink level monitoring.
Great Printer!

But costly in terms of ink replacement cartridges.
We have had this printer for over 3 yrs and works like a charm. It is exclusively dedicated to print photos and it gets a lot of use.
We have not had any problems with it and frankly, for heavy office/document work, nothing beats a laser printer. We have had our Laseerjet4 for almost 12yrs (great work horse). The HPphotosmart prints the pictures as clearly as they are seen on the screen. When comparing a set developed in the lab and the prints made at home, we are very pleased with the details and quality.
The ink cartridges as stated above are expensive, but even using a refill kit, the results are incredibly good. If you are into refilling it yourself it will cut your cost tremendously.
The "fuzzy" not clear images stated in another post, may have more to do with the resolution of the picture taken by the camera than with the printer. Good software for twiking the pictures is a must.
Didn't last long

I loved this printer from the moment I bought it. It was quick and easy to install and the print quality has been awesome in both color, for photos, and black and white. It printed beautiful, professional quality photos. However, the ink was fairly expensive (but I knew this when I bought it.) Trouble is, after not quite 2 years of ownership, it stopped printing black! It gives a "replace cartridge" "cartridge failed" error message now and despite trying (and opening) two brand new cartridges nothing works. Repair would be more expensive than buying a new one. I'm very disappointed in the longevity of this product but it was great while it lasted.

I bought this printer new almost two years ago. Great job on photos, good color, tack sharp images. Last week (while printing a text only job) the ink carriage jammed on the left side of the rail. I had to remove the top of the printer to free it. Ever since then, the printer is a wonderful door stop. Local repair/service types recommend, "Buy a new printer." The cost of repair vs. a new printer backs this up. My new Canon i9900 is a dream come true. RIP faithful HP 7350.
Many Problems!

The Good: Photo quality is excellent
The Bad: Cartridges are not convenient, the machine does not have internal storage for photo, color and black. When your family uses the printer for all uses, this is far from ideal.
For regular paper printing, any more than 2 sheets ordered on the same job, a paper jam is in your immediate future.
For 4X6 borderless printing, the photo was never centered on the 4X6 photo paper, and it was not printed straight. We always had to go through and even the photos up with a scissors.
After 6 months of use, the cartridges would stick and the printer would freeze up. Repairs offered were more than a new printer. We would have to manually pull the cartridge away from the side, and restart our computer to cancel the frozen jobs and trick the printer into working.
There is more bad, but I'm sure that you get the picture.
