Big bottle

The oil is needed to keep your shredder working properly. Trust me, I messed one up by not oiling it.
This bottle will last a lifetime.

Shipped as scheduled, received on time works well. I recommend it to keep the machine running smoothly.
Unneeded up-sell
2008-03-23
In my opinion this is an unneeded item. I spent a substantial amount of time looking for the "Items In the Box list" on the Fellowes 32197 Powershred SB-97Cs shredder. There was no oil mentioned on that list, however there is a bottle of oil included with the shredder that will probably outlast the shredder itself.
Additionally this bottle that I purchased is so large it would probably last someone with 10 shredders a lifetime.
I'm sure the product is fine but I don't think it's a necessary purchase.
Great product.

Does what it is supposed to do. Easy to use tip and not messy as other oils I have used in the past. Highly recommended.
Fellowes Shredders have safety problems with Auto Feed Sensors
2008-07-10
I have owned one other Fellows shredder I bought at Costco. The shredder shred paper just fine and as advertised, but the Auto Feed Sensor malfunctioned and quit working entirely.
At first on my older model, it was possible to clean the sensor following Fellows instructions, Q-tip with rubbing alcohol, but it finally just stopped working all together, an electronic failure in the circuitry is my best guess.
I purchased this newer Fellowes Power Shredder because I feel having a non-working safety sensor is bad for kid and pets. But only after about 1-month of occasional shredding the sensor started getting flakey and completely stopped working. I noticed the shredder would turn itself on when I would turn on my microwave which shares a power strip with it which I thought was very strange. I don't have electrical problems in my home and my best guess is that these Fellowes Auto Feed Sensors are not designed well at all as many, many people complain about them breaking.
Yes cleaning them does work...for a while but they have a very nasty habit of just failing after some time, but with the Fellows Power Shredder it just broke, cleaning made not difference.
Mine is new enough I could return it under warranty for a replacement, BUT having to pack it up an pay for shipping the heavy item is just not work the hassle.
Fellows shredder from my experience are solid well working machines with the exception that the buyer should be aware of this safety issue and expect them to become MANUAL type shredders sooner or later.
Fellows Powershred Lube

I have previously just used 3-in-1 oil. This seems to work much better. I also purchased a Fellows Shredder and am impressed with it, although it does work very hard to shred 6-8 at a time as advertised.
Great!

Makes my shredder last and hasn't failed yet. I use it after every full basket and my shredder keeps going and going! This is essential!
Works great

I have tried various lubricants for OTHER shredders in the past with mixed success so when I found this lubricant for the shredder I jumped on the purchase. Very satisfied.
Overpriced and awkward, buy a container and vegetable oil!
2008-05-07
I purchased this with my shredder, a Fellowes 32177 Powershred PS-77Cs. The bottle is kind of unwieldy, as the nozzle hole is quite big for oil (and it will just spill out). The bottle is pretty big, about 8-10 inches tall so I will have this for a long time, even after using this every time the bag has been changed (recommended by Fellowes).
Since this is just pre-packaged and labeled vegetable oil I will use that in the future in an empty old-style ketchup bottle. I would recommend buying a container for vegetable oil and using that instead. Be a smart consumer and save your money!
