Great product

i bought this for my husband for fathers day last year. at first he was skeptical and when we finally got it built, he is more then happy with it. he is extatic! it is well built and was the easeist way to get a custom workbench. we beefed it up with better screws and thicker plywood. We used the shelves taht were extra on top of the workbech isntead of on the side. all in all, it is a great product and i would highly recommend it.

This kit was well worth the money. I needed a kit that would let me choose the size of bench to make(65"24").Easy to understand instructions.A few of the earlier reviews were very helpful. Buy larger screws. Home Depot made all the wood cuts I needed.Total cost of lumber $82.00. I used 3/4" Mdf sheets for my 2 shelves and a nice finished grade plywood for the top.It took about 2 hours to build the bench(I will add additional shelves another day). I'm just average at building skills.The product website has a bunch of pictures of benches built by other buyers.That was great info.You can't go wrong with this kit.

Not completely adjustable

After reading all the reviews I too plan to purchase one. I noticed that although length and width is custom built, it's going to be 36" high whether I like it or not. This is the same Height as a common kitchen counter. Myself, being a 5ft 7", it's a tad high to my liking but I will endure. Wish height was adjustable though!

I have purchased three of these workbenches, several of the shelf links / firewood racks, and the saw horses. The flexability of this product is what makes it "Awesome". I have a workbench in the garage, one in the shed, and one in the basement. Hey Amazon, lower the price back to $39.95 and I will buy three more workbenches!

excellent workbench

I needed a workbench for my basement and looked into some of the pre-made ones from inexpensive to expensive scandinavian ones. I liked the idea of the sturdy ABS legs with predrilled holes for screws and I loved the price.
This was really easy to put together and is sturdy. I am very satisfied with it and have done a lot of work on it since putting it together.
Maybe some day, I get a thousand dollar swedish one but till then, I am happy with this, particularly after a few customizations of my own --- adding a end clamp/vise.

You can make a huge bench out of this, but when you do, you have to plan your steps of what to do first wisely, especially if you are working on it solo, it can get quite heavy once completed. I made one that is full size and had to make midway supports from the rear and front of the bench inbetween the shelvings b/c the 2x4's would slightly bend under all the weight over time, but it can be quickly corrected, all I had to use was an extra 2x4, and some straight brackets to fasten the supports. It is an awesome bench though, I even walked on it to see if it really is as tough as people say, and I am not a small guy (250lbs) (it really is tough), it would not even move or sway in any way, it was as steady as a rock. This bench can be put together in about an hour if you have everything ready and all the tools handy. #1 Product, I will buy more in the future

Extremely durable and easy to build!

I purchased this kit from Amazon and had the entire workbench built in a few hours. Yes, you can build one entirely of lumber and hardware from your local home improvement center, but the 2X4 Basics system is like a LEGO system for adults! The legs are NOT plastic -- they are industrial resin and very rigid. Using only a variable speed jigsaw, I made the straight cuts necessary to construct this kit. The kit is VERY forgiving (my cuts were not perfectly straight by any means). I used six 2X4s (96 in long) and two flat plywood sheets (2' X 4' and 3/4" thick) as the lumber -- everything else is in the kit. Bottom Line -- this was a fun project to build and the result is an ideal workbench.

Awesome solution to small space for storage

This Finley Basics Workbench fit perfectly in an unusual space in a corner of my wood shop. It went together easily. I put it together by myself. The only modification I used was to replace the front working area 2 x 4 with a shelf on the bottom. More space and things were easy to get to. Solid as a rock. Excellent product. If more people knew that this workbench existed, it would be hard to keep in stock!! Thanks

Workbench for Dummies

This is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I went to Home Depot with my dimensions and had them make the cuts, brought the lumber home and had it put together in about an hour. The good thing about this product (aside from ease of assembly) is you make the decision as to the dimensions. I am NOT a skilled handyman and this was easy for me. If you have more than the usual two thumbs, this is for you.
