No problems

I've used TDK cd-r for years and I've never had any problems. I recommend this brand for being reliable and affordable.
prepare to lose your data!

I have about 200 live concerts that I burned onto TDK discs about 3 years ago. None of them are playable now. Going forward, I will only use Mitsui Gold cds.
Consistently good performance!

I use these discs for data (but not consistently for audio), and I've never had a problem with one yet. No errors in the burning process, no read problems.
The few times I used them for music (WMA or MP3 files), again no problems, and no complaints.
Problems?

Has anyone else experienced the following ?: Used the first twenty or so in a stack of 100 without any problems, then have run into (so far) a run of at least 30 defective discs after the remainder sat unused for a few months. After various attempts to narrow down the problem, I tracked it down to the blank CD-Rs. I had exactly the same problem occur with another brand, which was replaced with these TDKs. Is there some unwritten shelf life for blank CD-Rs or am I just unlucky?
Great discs for everyday burning!!

I've been using the silver data TDK's for a while now, and I've had no problems, they are reliable and they sound superb. I was buying the white music version, but after using and listening to both, there is no difference, although I have a friend who won't use the silver discs because the package doesn't say music!Pretty silly.
Anybody who claims to have problems with errors needs to slow down the burn speed. What is this obssesion with burning at high speeds?? I burn all my dvd's and cd's at 1 and 2x. I guarantee you will not have errors, unless you use poor technique or a piece of junk burner. Slow it down, and you'll get more consistent results. When I burn a dual layer dvd with a 7-8 gb file, it takes about 40 minutes on my Lacie burner, so what!!!! Press record, and go away, watch the tube or whatever. Also, buy the Cardas test cd, about $20 bucks, it has two tracks on it that demagnetize the entire signal path. Use it on the computer, cd and dvd players and let it play thru your stereo or home theatre system. Makes an audible difference, and I think it just might minimize writing errors. All these little things make a difference. My non audiophile friends have commented to me on how good my cd's sound, this is not an accident, believe me!!
TDK's are great, but if you want to go beyond that, try Mitsui dvd's and cd-r's. They are the best with a lifespan or 75 and 300 years for the silver and gold respectively. Total overkill, but total quality also!!

TDK CD-R80HSCB-50 is quite a long product designation, but very precise when broken down. "CD-R" means "CD-Recordable," the blank media used for data copying in situations where it's okay that the disc is not eraseable. You'd buy "CD-RW" discs if you wanted to reuse them several times. "80" means the disc can hold up to 80 minutes audio at full CD quality, or 700MB of data. "HS" stands for "High Speed," and these discs are indeed certified for drives operating at up to 48X -- the fastest speed currently available. "CB" indicates "Cake Box," a slangy term for the spindle and lid arrangement in which this package of 50 blank discs is sold--which does, in fact, resemble a small cake box.
The Best. Period

I have went through so many Cd-R blanks and finally found some with some good dye and have zero error burning rate. TDK is amazing. The first one i've burned i've now had for over a year and still no defects on the back of it. It's amazing.
TDK works great

I have burned over 200 of these blanks with no troubles. Most important to me is the compatibility with all CD players, even older ones. TDK works perfectly, highly recommended versus bargain basement CD-Rs.
Great quality and overall value

I've been using these CD's for a while now and they work extremely well on my Lite-On SOHW-1673S, getting burning times of 2 min 30 sec average for a whole CD at maximum speed. Highly recommended.
never had a problem

I'm very satisfied with TDK cd-rs. In fact, I only buy this brand. I tried some cheaper brands, but they either had errors or failed after some time. The TDKs are still working perfectly. I always burn at half of the maximum speed for caution: it seems safer, even if it takes a little bit more time. Reviews in another online store (CC) indicate that this is the best and I agree.
