Good for the office

Of course, these aren't going to sound like a top-notch stereo system. But they are great for the money, especially if you're like me, and you just want a little background music while you do your paperwork.
compact and idiot proof

we needed new speakers for our computer... don't have a lot of space around the PC and didn't want to spend much money. These compact speakers plugged right in, take very little space and have easy to access volumne control. They are exactly what we needed.
Great little speakers 2007-11-30
This is a great little set of speakers. When I installed a wide-screen monitor, I wanted some small speakers that I could place in front of the monitor. They needed to sound good enough for my modest needs, and I didn't want to pay a lot of money. These speakers fit the bill.
don't bother

I wanted inexpensive speakers with a small footprint for one of our home PCs. These seemed to fit the bill but the sound quality is even worse than speakers integrated into a monitor. I spent about $10 more and got the Creative SBS380 ($19.00 at a famous discount store) and will toss these into the trash and chalk it up to a lesson learned.

For under $10 you could get worse than these - just don't expect a HUGE cound or a LOT of deep bass, OK? they will do fine for small TVs (in a small area), basic computing (email and IM alerts).

Cheap speakers 2007-03-31
Bought 7 of these for my daughters preschool classroom computers. 6 of the seven work wonderfully, one has a really bad humm to it. The price was right!

Reason for Buying: I have a $200 set of surround sound speakers for my computer but lost the ½ of the wires in the latest move, so I decided to get the cheapest pair I could find online.
Research: Yes, I did my research. I read the other reviews. I heard about the popping and static and the overall cheap sound quality if you turn the speakers all the way up (who would want to turn them all the way up anyways?). And I thought MicroInnovations is a brand that I have used several times before and have always offered good quality products. Could they be that bad?
Results: Well no, they're not that bad. At first I heard no static or popping. Then my 4 year old got on the computer and turned them all the way up and yes, the sound can get distorted. When no sound is being used then you hear a clicking and some static. If you just need them for simple windows sounds (or Mac) then they are fine! And cheap! Not recommended for dvd watching or 4 year olds.
Functional inexpensive speakers 2007-01-18
We needed a pair of speakers so that we could hear pronunciation of words on an online dictionary website. For this use, these speakers are fine. Sound quality is poor, so if you're looking for speakers to listen to music over, you'll need to spend a little more.
