Editorial Review
LINKSYS WRT54G - Wireless-G is the emerging 54 Mbps wireless networking standard that's almost five times faster than the widely deployed Wireless-B ( 802.11b ) products found in homes, businesses and public wireless hotspots around the country. The best part is, since they share the same 2.4GHz radio band, Wireless-G devices talk to existing 11 Mbps Wireless-B equipment. Operates as a DHCP Server NAT technology to protect against Internet intruders Supports VPN pass-through Easy configuration with web browser based configuration utility

Great Deal! 2008-05-09
Great Product, I just had a problem configuring it the first time, the cd that configures the router is a little confusing. But apart of that it's an excellent product. I really recommend this router for Home users or in my case a small business....

Easiest to set up of all 2008-05-08
Linksys products have always been the easiest to set up and the most reliable I've used.

A very difficult company to deal with 2008-05-06
This is a bad company. I purchased a wireless router from them and, truth be told, it never really worked right. The speed was ok, but it was impossible to set up without tech support and every so often it would simply stop working. When that happened I would be forced to call tech support and spend 30-60 minutes on the phone fighting with them about resetting the router. I recently purchased a new computer and decided to save a little money by moving this router to it. When I called tech support I was told that the router was out of its warranty period and they could not help me... unless I would pay them to. That's right, I would have to pay for the assistance on their product - a working product because it was not under warranty.

So be warned that you are only buying the option to use Linksys' products for a limited time - that is if you have any problems whatsoever that require tech support. I am now trying a Trendnet. Let's see if they are any better.

Great router 2008-05-03
Bought this to network my iMac upstairs with my PowerMac downstairs. Since it isn't Mac friendly to set up, it took a few extra steps. So far it works flawlessly. It has a good range, and I have had no problems.

Not Bad But Not Great 2008-04-29
I bought the Linksys wireless router thinking this would cure my ills that I was having with my old Belkin router. I was constantly having to reset it and it did not have the easiest access to it's reset button. It turns out I have the same issue with the Linksys. The saving grace with the Linksys is that the reset button is much easier to access than on the Belkin so it's not as much of a problem. Other than having to reset it every 3 or 4 days, the router works fine and provides a network for 3 laptops in my home. I would probably buy one again if I had need for it since it does the job and is not overly expensive.

router 2008-04-28
I have so many issues with using this router for my wireless laptop.
Every week I need to reconnect it wireline to the network in order to have it keep working wirelessly. Linksys stated that this needs to be done only once but it really needs to be done all the time.
I believe the issue is due to the fact I set it a secured network.

Works 2008-04-27
It's a WRT54G wireless router. It routes data wirelessly. It's your basic starter-level wireless router. Everyone has one, because it Just Works. What else is there to say about it?

Good Router 2008-04-27
I had the same product a while back, and it used to have some trouble of dis-connecting computers from the internet and re-connect a few seconds after, but I have not observed the same kind of problem with this new router...

Also, I think they added some more support to this router now, even though it's the same model. It used to be the simple WPA encryption for wireless internet protection about 3 years ago, but now it is upgraded to include WPA2 encryption, which is supposely better protection.
